I think he's slowed slightly but it doesn't matter because he's fighting bigger slower guys plus he's improved as a boxer overall.
the bigger you become the slower you get.. that is the ratio.. greater mass = slower velocity , i think that is basic physics.. like what is always mentioned during the last telecast.. it is an anomaly to gain weight and become faster..
Pac wasn't even slow against Margarito and that's half assed training. Imagine what Pac could've done if he started his training here at the WILDCARD gym.
PAC slowed down a bit in this fight but it's because of Margarito size. Margarito was like a truck trying to trap Pac in the corner and plow through him When PAC felt that power and strength he had to move around alot. He couldn't just jump in there and do what he wanted to do because of the size difference which made him looked slow.
That is why Mayweather is not great. He waits for guys to not be as good, so the win is not as great. I loved Ray's win over Hagler, but he did not fight the same Hagler which Hearns fought. Hagler fought often when he fought Hearns and was sharp. When he fought Ray he was rusty.
As much as being heavier himself, being tired from fighting a bloke 17lbs heavier for 12 rounds and throwing a lot of leather, I also think he didn't want to damage him anymore in the last 2. There were plenty of shots that he could have powered in on in the last 2 rounds that he just peppered. Would be interesting to see what the work rate of Pac n Floyd per round is over their last 5 fights. Pac must throw a fair few more punches being as agressive as he is.
"For a guy who just displayed one of of the greatest acts of ringmanship ever and more frightening fighter today than he ever was", to others that's slowing down.
Kellerman is an idiot. The HBO crew has really lost it the past 1-2 years. Even though they were always criticized for being biased in the past they would usually have the best crew. Now Lampley drones on about nothing, Max has always been mediocre, Merchant used to be great but he is way too old, only Emanuel Steward can provide some interesting observations in between him claiming that he always knew 'that the fight would turn this way'. Throughout the fight they were going on with stupid anecdotes and random stories instead of calling the action. HBO needs to change things up.
