I think losing Pac to CBS/SHOWTIME and catering more of Haymon's and GPB's boxers was the reason HBO decided to part ways with Ross. He's not a "Boxing" man anyway and doesn't know the in's and out's of the sports. Giving Devon and Bradley guaranteed contracts and all those Big purses given to worthless boxers like Berto and shitty boxing matches on BAD and HBO Championship Boxing didn't help. HBO made the right decision. They should've fired him years ago...

No Pac is not the reason. Ross has been making horrible decisions for years man. Should have been gone 3 years ago.

Pretty sure Pac is a major reason.

The loss of Pac for 1 fight, yet alone for future fights would probably cost HBO in 10's of millions and probably more money than all the fights combined so far this year alone. Im pretty sure its a major reason. There was an article Thomas Hausser released absolutely berating Greenburg over losing Pac and how the HBO bosses were dissapointed putting Greenburgs job in jeopardy.

of course, HBO losing the #1 boxer to its competitor is big, but there could be other reasons as well.

Yea obviously its the bad decisions over the last years, however the loss of Pac prompted media attention towards Greenburg's competency in his job and I'm sure that was a major factor in why the bosses coincidentally decides to fire Ross 1 day before Pac debuts in their rival network showtime.

it was the final issue that got him the axe.... thats also why the brothers says yes to HBO when HBO wanted them back for the Haye fight and the Adamek fight

Greenburg was very very hard to deal with and hated certain fighters and promoters and REFUSED to allow them on HBO

    Good riddance

Ross has been making stupid decisions year after year, but his failure to keep Pacquiao was his final nail in the coffin, in my opinion. Because not only did he push away the number one star of the sport, he pushed away the most powerful promoter in business - Bob Arum - and all of his fighters too!

Good news. HBO has to rebuild their boxing brand, IMO. Hopefully this can be a good start.
