Is Pac viewed at a higher standard than anyone else in boxing?

Margo win is only looked at it the way it is because of how big Margo is compared to Pac... Boxing fans should know Margo comes face first taking punches to land his own, and against someone as fast and active as Pacquiao he was going to eat punches all night and lose a very very lopsided decision. It's a reason Margo was picked for Pac to pick up his "8th weight championship" and at a catchweight and not a real 154lb champion.

Cotto fight was a good win, but I can't give the credit all of his fans want to.. Whether fans like it or not Cotto HAS gone on record stating he won't sacrifice his body for Pac anymore, as soon as he left from under Arum.. Some say he's just saying it now as an excuse, but others believe he couldn't before because he was under Arum. He was also without his trainer if I recall correctly. Good win, but not the amazing feat his fans want to claim it is.

I don't see anything wrong with the Hatton fight besides Floyd KTFO of him earlier. Floyd's biggest fans will say it made all the difference, and Hatton DID get wobbled after the Floyd loss to Lazcano then face no punch power Pauli... But I give him plenty credit for the win against Hatton at 140.

 

Why was Mayweather bringing Marquez up 2 divisions seen as unacceptable yet most thought it was a good fight when Pacquiao brought him up 2?

Why do people keep talking about Mayweather fighting Martinez but little mention Pacquiao fighting him?

The reason is expectations are greater for Mayweather.

 

Hatton isn't as fast or active or mobile as Pac was... Styles make fights, of course Pac's style does better against Margo than Hatton's does.

Did Margo make a tougher fight than JMM? Do you believe the Margo that lost to Pac gives that JMM a tough fight?

JMM had already moved up to LWW before Pac 3.

Floyd's 5th divisional belt is presumably more legit that Pac's 8th, which was totally bogus. But Pac will not turn away any challenger in his 7th division for being too big, Floyd seems to be picking his fights very carefully in his 5th

 

Mayweather brought up Marquez 3 divisions in just over a year.

Pacquiao brought up Marquez half a division and gave him a year to prepare

 

When Floyd can win titles at cruiserweight then he can match Pacquiao's achievements

 

How did pacquiao face a better version of Mosley when Mosley looked like **** against Mora in his previous fight. You cant use inactivity as an excuse to discredit Floyds win because Floyd had only had 1 fight in 2 years .

 

I agree.. JMM gave Pacquiao a tougher fight than Margo but Margo would do better against JMM than Pac. Can't compare them like that, styles make fights. Margo lasting and doing more than Hatton doesn't mean it's a better win.. It was a fight made specifically to compliment Pac's skills.

 

The Mosley that faced Pacquiao was not ring rusty or did he have a 5 month training camp and suffer the effects over over training. He did not gas out after 2 rounds, shameful a pro boxer doing that. Nazim commented, several times during the fight with Mayweather that he was tight, a sign of ring rust and the said that Mayweather was not better just fitter.

Against Pacquiao he had the fight against the Middleweight Latin Snake, and I thought got the decision, but he was staying active and had a good training camp for the Pacquiao bout.

In the fight he was mobile quick on his feet, good stamina and was loose.

Marquez moved to Top Rank and fought a can at 140 in preparation for the Pacquiao fight, it was why he signed with them in the first place.

He had zero competitive competition above 135 accept for a fight he lost 12-0 on the scorecards, yet a fight at weler with Pacquiao was acceptable:huh

Agree, Marg was a fun fight and a good accomplishment for Pac, a bit tainted by the bogus belt. Hatton might be a better resume enhancer though. I don't think JMM would have done well against many of Pac's welter opponents, but will give Pac a harder fight than those guys every time
