He has fought 4 times in the past 3 years (sept 2009).

Well if I agree that Cotto was shot for Floyd then he was shot for Manny too. Margarito wraps did that damage. Cotto had some rebuilt confidence after beating Margarito as well. Cotto was also weak at 145 where as he wasn't at 154.

Margarito was unranked when he fought Manny and had not done anything to prove he was still good without wraps.

Floyd is held to higher standards by fans and media...not sure how you don't see this but hey, it's your opinion backed by incorrect information so do what ya do bro.

JMM, Bradley, and SSM are on the list oc Pac's possible opponent.. Forum members here were posting like, "Among those three, who's the better opponent for Pac?", and yes.. SSM is voted to be the best during the time.. :deal

manny vs oscar is like floyd vs mosley.

floyd gets credit for making the fight, but not for the win. because mosley looked and was old in the floyd fight.

I don't get this logic. Mosley beat Margarito who at the time was the number 1 ranking Welterweight in the world. Floyd fought the a top 3 WW in Mosley back when the division was pretty stacked.

Oscar picked Manny to fight at 147. Oscar was not ranked in the top 25 at 147 because that was his first fight there for more than 7 years. Manny was a LW going up to fight Oscar. Manny should get credit for beating the bigger man, but it's not as good a win like beating a Top 3 WW at the time like Mayweather did with Mosley.

That is not what they were saying before the fight. After the Marquez fight everyone said Floyd was scared of Shane and he would never fight him. Fans were saying that Floyd was to scared to fight a full fledged WW with good speed and he still had great power.

Even Arum said he doubted Floyd would ever fight Shane as did Roach. They said Floyd should fight Shane since they would be going after Yuri Formane but they didn't think Floyd would fight him because he is to much of a threat.

Not to mention Shane was ranked #1 at WW and ranked #3 in the world behind Manny and Floyd.

    Yup!

fighting JMM at two levels higher than his usual weight and winning over ortiz via cheap shot is really viewed as higher standards...

fighting hatton at 147lbs which hatton had to move up one weight level. YES! He was (hatton) UNDEFEATED but UNDEFEATED at 140 not 147lbs.. Pac BEAT him at 140 where he was undefeated.

PAC vs ODLH. ODLH gave him a good fight.
    pacquio toyed with ODLH!:hey

Yes! NOW i KNOW you standards :rofl:lol::rofl

He was the number 1 welterweight & third in the world when Floyd fought him.

When Manny fought him he was unranked.

DLH was the JMW champ when Floyd fought him

When Manny fought him he was unranked

These aren't opinions they're facts :huh

Both men were ranked lower when Manny fought them and they were both older

Oscars bad performance wasn't as much due to his age as the weight though, which wasn't Emmanuel's fault

Not just top 3 WW (Shane was ranked #1) but top 3 POUND FOR POUND FIGHTER (he was #3 in the world).

Only names ahead of Shane Mosley at the time of the fight were Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather. So Manny turned down the drug testing and Floyd went and fougth the guy he so called "feared."

Shane was ranked #1 by Ring and #2 by ESPN...He was ranked #3 in the world by Ring and ESPN.

ESPN and Ring had Oscar #1 at 154 when Floyd fought him. Forrest had just been given a gift that prior August to Quartay and did not take over the #1 spot till Oscar lost.

    Agree on that.

Your talking one guy who is ranked #3 in the world and #1 at the weight class and another who is unranked and has not made the weight he is fighting at in 8 years.

    Exactly....

Thing with this thread is, the guy comes in stating all sorts of incorrect revisionist information, and then in 10 minutes someone will come in and say '***** circle jerk' or some **** :-(

tell ME among their common opponents
JMM, MOSLEY, HATTON, ODLH - who performed more impressive with these fighters?! PAC Or FLOYD?!

PAC performed much better, more exciting, more dominating in all except for JMM. But he fought JMM two weight levels higher than his usual weight!

FLOYD only performed better in his fight with JMM but then again like a said he fought JMM but had to move two weight levels higher and guess what, ****in' floyd showed UP over weight and did not bother shed the weight which was over the agreed weight! He just paid the penalty. Ask JMM fans about that fight.

you're running out of threads Thatman. you keep avoiding threads after i post this.

    as for the thread
you gotta see whose opinion it is coming from. most of the time, it's coming from forumers out to discredit his wins.
