I hear that. Take the poster below you. He makes excuses for Floyd fighting Marquez yet doesn't take anything away from Manny for fighting a weight drained Oscar and a #6 rated Mosley who he had technical problems with (blamed those problems on his cramps after the fight but that is Manny's own fault and flaw in his own fight game then).

They never bring correct information and just troll.

Dismissing the layoff renders your opinion meaningless.

JMM is a grown man and had the OPTION to tell Floyd to **** off, go make the weight, come back in an hour after sweating in a sauna.

Not Floyd's fault JMM did took the money instead of MAKING Floyd make the weight or NO FIGHT.

Get your story straight bro...I'm known to put posters in their place that don't have correct information.

Not meaningless, just less meaningful. Add in the 15+ month layoff and it does take away some credit imo, but it's still a much much better win than Manny beating Oscar at 147.

Ok but that wasn't being said post Marquez. Shane was #3 in the world and #1 at the weight. Don't forget these even more important items.

  6. Yes, how many other fighters are criticised for not fighting opponents 10 weights above where they had started and that will outweigh them in the ring by close to 20 lbs?

A 15 month layoff at that age means everything. It was a decent win nonetheless though. As was Pacquiao over Oscar; coming up from 135...Oscar going down 3 lbs. Now, Nacho and Oscar thinking it would be a good move to come in at 145 was a massive miscalculation.

  8. When Floyd can dominate at cruiserweight maybe then he can be consider on Pacquiao's level.

The layoff cancels out the rankings. It would be like having Mayweather still ranked #1 at Junior Middle a year and a half from his bout with Cotto with no fight(s) in between that period. It would be tough to defend that as being accurate.

I dissagree that it cancels it out. Again, post Marquez EVERYONE said Floyd would be dominated by Shane. As soon as he signs the fight Shane becomes old.

I see what you are saying. But FACT is Shane was still the highest rated fighter at WW and the highest rated fighter in the world not named Manny or Floyd and that is fact.

Manny had already ducked Floyd using drug testing as an excuse as well...There was nobody left but the #3 fighter in the world at the time.

Oscar hadn't looked impressive since his rematch with Mosley in 2003. Well unless you want to rate Mayorga...which would be a mistake. Yet, Mayweather claims his win over Oscar is the biggest win of his career. Does that make you smack your head as well?

He rates it as his biggest win because it put him into a different category as far as draw power, not because of anything related to skill or anything like that.

Floyd rates Cotto as his hardest fight followed by Augustus in 2000.

Oscar is the man who shot Floyd and Manny into super stardom. I would say it's both their biggest wins from a financial view.

Are you certain you're not being slightly hyperbolic when you say everyone? Highest rated and best are not always the same thing though. Right?
