Is Pacquaio ducking Ricky Hatton ?

It's something i never thought i'd say about a fighter who i belived to be absolutely fearless .
But at the end of the day, the guy is being offered more money than he can possibly earn elsewhere against a fighter who is generally seen as not in his class.
Has Manny seen something in Hatton that scares the **** out of him or is it genuinely purely a money matter when he can expect to earn 10m + whatever cut he takes ?

I'm undecided, i find it hard to believe he is afraid he will lose this fight but the lonegr it all goes on and the more concessions Hatton gives, the more i think it may be the case .

I think he knows it's a big risk. Hatton is a decent fighter and Manny wants the top money just in case. But I don't think he's scared.

    As he says 'anytime, anywhere'

Reports are Manny's bottom lip was quivering when he said it, so I say yes. He's scared.

A year ago when you talk about a potential fight between Hatton and PAC you are called delusional. Everybody picks hatton over pac by devastation even...

Now just coz pac feels he deserves more people are saying that pac is ducking hatton! lol

people forget that though Pac turned down the fight for 50%, Hatton also turned it down for 40%

both turned down the fight for what they deemed was an unreasonable slice of the pie.

Philla - you don't get it. He doesn't deserve more UK money than Hatton. When Hatton fought Mayweather he got 100% of UK money, because even though Floyd has the biggest ego in the world, he knows that money's from Hattons fans - they paid to see him.

And before you say Malignaggi didn't sell well, he's not a big name. Hatton vs Big Name = Big Bucks - it doesn't matter who the name is - if he fights Marquez there will be the same amount of UK ppvs.

Mayweather got screwed. Floyd was a big reason that fight did so well. The ppv numbers in the U.K were more than double what Hatton ever did. Cleary Floyd had something to do with that and there's no way he should've let Hatton get all that money. Pac has been giving in to other fighter's demands for too long and decided to take a stand. Hatton is not the PPV draw you guys think he is. Sure, against Mayweather or Pac he'll do huge numbers. However, outside of that, I doubt he can put up numbers anywhere near as high as that Mayweather fight. Marquez is not that big of a name.

My point is, though, that when PBF is fighting on ppv against anyone else, no-one in the UK buys it. Casual British boxing fans and many Hatton fans who fork out don't know the names of the likes of Pacquiao, Mayweather or Marquez - but they know they're big names and all top 3 p4p etc so they'll pay but they're paying to see Hatton vs the big name - not the big name themselves.

It doesn't matter what you think he deserves, or what i think he deserves. What matters is what he thinks he deserves. He felt he deserved 60% of the pie, he offered it to Hatton and Hatton turned it down. If Hatton had said yes, the fight would be on. Same thing vice-versa, Hatton felt he deserved 50%, he offered it to Pac, and Pac turned it down.

If Pac was ducking Hatton, then why would he offer him 40%. I mean 40% is still a multi-million dollar payday for Hatton. Hatton won't make more fighting JMM than he would make against Pacquiao, even with 40%

Is Hatton ducking Pacquaio? The 40% he'd get against Pacquaio tops any other fight out there, except perhaps anothing pasting from Mayweather

Neither are ducking, both are stuborn and looking for the best deal

Maybe Pacman has suddenly realised this fight isn't going to be a walk in the park like DLH. He's had a change of heart(or rather LACK of heart)

Hatton said yes to 60/40 - as long as he keeps the money from his home country. People need to realise this. The only reason 50/50 got mentioned is because it's better for Pacquiao (with all money in the pot).

Pac offered Hatton 40% of the whole pot, which is still more money than he will make against JMM. Hatton turned it down.

Yep pac also turned down 50%, more money than he has ever made before. So much for the warrior bull**** he likes to portray, he just a greedy **** like every other boxer.

There was an agreement on the table. Someone turned it down - it wasn't Hatton though.

I get the feeling you would defend him no matter what. Did you not say something earlier along the lines of "so what if Pac agreed, he changed his mind - tough"?
