His catchweight era was really superficial and leaves a sour taste in your mouth but even before the Cotto fight his reume was outstanding and i can remember even Floyd when he retired said Manny was the best( not including himself obviously!) on the planet. Thats why i hate on his **** fights with Arums so much . Even an off colour Pac can deliver exitement other fighters can only dream about. Instead we have blatantly set up wins against top rank fighters like Clottey(off a loss), Margo(shouldn't have even been allowed to box and how the **** was it for a title? a catchweight title no less) The way he dealt with the Floyd fight convinced people he's on PED's. I mean if he wasn't on PED's he sure made it look like it. i.e 2009 i'll take blood tests no problem then during talks pulls out because of blood tests!!!
Hardly a fair comparison. The guy started at minimum weight and went up about 40% of his weight. Did the above mentioned ever do that and dominate?
I think that's a bit unfair Hearns was a monster at 147 he'd be like a foot taller than Pac i'd have him a huge favourite and same with Leonard but p4p he would't be as far behind.
He is like Nonito the only one to stop Darchinyan and Montiel but way better he stopped an iron chin Morales ( the only one to do so). Went 36 rounds with Marquez without getting KTFO.Wrecked Margarito and Cotto.Longetivity wise. He's right up there with the best who has been through a lot of wars and still bang! He slowed down a bit against Bradley.Chin, heart, stamina. ATG! except for when he was younger.Pacquiao get's in a WAR but they box him, and he has a tough time, that's his Achilles heel.He was exciting to watch. Not anymore. But that's what happens with age.Look at his work.No doubt he is top 30'ish.
Did Hearns not win a title up at the higher weights like cruiserweight or am i thick? i hate boxrec so couldn't be bothered checking it.
Pacquiao has the best resume of any active fighter, imo, so if he isn't an atg, nobody in this era is. I don't know what you mean by saying "these are good fighters but come on!" after mentioning his trilogies with Morales and Marquez (you forget Barrera) - any fighter who has fought three hall of famers that many times and come out winning most of them has got a great CV. At the moment, he is fighting above his ideal weight and still has enough to beat a young lion like Bradley - albeit getting robbed on the cards.
:deal All them braindead queers who keep posting **** about Leonard and Hearns knocking out Floyd and Pac in 16 seconds and discrediting them with that logic never mention this fact for SOME reason. Great point you make right there. :good
He did win the IBO cruiserweight title against a nobody called Nate Miller, and lost it right after against another nobody called Uriah something. Not trying to discredit Hearns though.
No, even if you think Manny Pacquiao defeated Timothy Bradley, it still does not change the fact that he lost to Erik Morales in his prime. Enough said!
Are you serious? Ok he may not be as good as Floyd Mayweather jr but of course he should be in the top 50-60 All time greats!
