At 144 JMM would eat canvas several times before round 8 against Pac, Cotto, Shane and Berto.

there isn't a single fighter that Pacquiao has fought who hasn't either been stopped or tasted the canvas since Pacquiao moved up to 122 in 1999.

Actually the only person who didn't is Agapito Sanchez which was a TD6 because of cuts caused by headbutts.

Maybe if you read it, you'll realize the article isn't about discrediting PAC.

Reading it literally is the easy part. Reading between the lines is a bit more difficult.

He clearly gives credit to Pac but at the same time takes away from that credit by demoting his wins to...
He then gives Pac credit with the Cotto win, saying it is his first legit WW fight but quickly says

So basically, he is saying Pac is getting technically better but all his wins are BS.
It is an underhanded compliment - great wins versus flawed/shitty opponents.

I think his right hook has improved dramatically and he is now fighting at a weight where he doesnt have to drain himself. I think that the second Marquez fight was another turning point from where improvements came, the first one being the Morales fight.

In and out movement, punch selection and some other subtle changes are things that i've noticed. There has been a huge improvement since the Barrera fight most certainly.

Although Pacquiao has improved I don't think he walks over JMM if they fight again. I think it will still be a close fight just like their other 2 fights.

What makes JMM a difficult fighter for Pac?

JMM is not just a counterpuncher with excellent hand speed. He tries to counter punch at Pac's first punch. Meaning Pac can not throw a combo and get out of there because by the time he finishes his combo JMM is already lauching his own combo counters.

Ronnie Shields said it better. Whe you try to coutner punch Pac, do it while he is on the offensive beause if you wait till he is findihed, he is already not in front of you.
