Is Pacquiao Dumb?

It's not even about broken english, like "Me get fish, cook fish and eat tonight" kind of thing.

Sometimes you use IN, ON, AT, WITH, THERE, HERE, etc. incorrectly, or past, present future tenses, spelling or intonation, and the more educated crowd will think of you as a small town hick from the mountains.

I'm sure Manny has no major insecurities about his english, though. He just struggles with it.

I myself can't really speak so well in English because I have zero practice.

 

In English even the Klitschko's sound a bit silly with some of the stuff they say, nothing to do with them being stupid just some of the sentences they say the words are in the wrong order or in the wrong context. They speak really good English most of the time its just those few occasions.

I dont know about Pac's native tongue and how he speaks with that but in English I can understand why the OP thinks that way about him, I think its just the fact that he doesn't speak great English so has to slow himself down to try and make sense, understandable.

Really? You type it quite well, bula. And by "quite well" I mean "Better than too many native English speakers on ESB/teh Internetz". I know typing and talking aren't the same thing, but it still surprises me to see you say that.

Speaking on half of actually dumb people we dont learn more than the language were born with and we sure as hell dont go into politics and try to become congressman. Pac's better than us and we drink too much we take life as it comes and the world keeps turning.

 

I almost changed it but I thought that'd be too anal. But, now I realize you're worse than me and I must watch myself.

 

It's because I have those extra few seconds to think about what I'm gonna say before I type it.

And I can check my post first for any glaring grammatical errors before clicking the REPLY button.

That's a lot easier than talking in english.

Although, give me a week or so of talking only in english, non stop, all day and I'm sure I'll be able to talk comfortably enough and with less hesitation and overthinking.

Not enough practice. Not too many foreigners where I'm from.

I can speak a couple of languages besides english -- pretty damned badly, it must be said. My point, though, was that, in Pac's case, it obviously isn't just incompetence -- his command of english is sufficiently good that there's clearly an act of choice going on.

Yeah: English is pretty ****ed-up. It's the child of two or three entirely separate languages and it borrows from all of them inconsistently. I don't envy anyone trying to learn it.

In fairness, you write it better than the majority of the 'natives' ...

Thanks. But I still sometimes cringe when I check my older posts and see 1 or 2 wrong verbs, adjectives, grammatical errors or tenses here and there. And I kinda wanna edit and correct those.

To true mate, we struggle with it the bedrock of English is an old german/freision & the superior words are all french & it's all spoken back to front as was the original native gaelic speaking people of these isle's in comparison to european's. Thats why we all struggle with French/german/Spanish anything!! It's all back to front for US!!!

Manny's communicates well IMO.

Trump forced Obama to do something that Obama and his team didn't want to do. Forced Obama to do something other people have been trying to get him to do for 3 years.

And Trump did it easily. Very easily, actually.

Manny isn't dumb. Stupid people don't stumble into becoming congressman, especially after learning from their mistakes on a previous failed run.

Stupid people beat up their girlfriends, or assault security officers. Or get slapped with defamation lawsuits. Or all of the above. That's what stupidity looks like.
