again Floyd moved up and took many belts as well...is he a KO type of fighter...NO...but i dont think its fair to penalize him because of style diferences. Hatton WON a tttle at 147...no matter how you look at it...he won a tittle at 147...Hatton doesnt perform well at that weight simply because he cant bully bigger men...thats it. I do give u credit for the Marquez crap....but it was a SHUT OUT....still impressive but is damaged by the weight stuff i agree. HOWEVR...you said Cotto agreed but so did Hatton so by your stadard both should be considered great wins...but Hatton was underfeated and never KO'ed...so i mean thats a better win right then the Pac win (Pac vs Hatton)..and the fight before Hatton did not look good even at 140. You keep saying destroyed bigger fighters...but he made two of the three fight at weights they shouldnt have fought it...regardless if they agreed because if you use this logic the fact that Hatton agreed to Floyds weight has to mean the same then and that being said no way is Pac's win over Hatton better than Floyds....was the KO brilliant of course...but Floyd's win was better....gave him his first Loss and First KO.....Pac just gave him a brutal KO...LOL Exciting the masses is great but i dont think that should make any difference when comparing the two because a W is a W no matter how exciting or boring...to get a W is what its about...not just ANYONE can do what fFloyd does and vice versa for Pac...you gotta give both the same credit.
lets see... Cotto would knock out Marquez @ WW, and yet Pac's win over Cotto was more dominant than Mayweather's win over Marquez. Edge Pac, not even close. Pac fought Hatton at 140, Floyd at 147. Pac completely trashed Hatton, Floyd went 10 rounds with him. Edge Pac not even close. Pac moved up from 135 to fight Oscar at 147, Oscar moving down from 150. Pac won every second of every round and stopped him. Floyd moved up from 147 to 154 and won a SD. Edge Pac not even close. Diaz and Baldomir are both journeymen. Pac beat the living **** out of Diaz and knocked him out. Floyd won an easy decision over Baldomir. Edge to Pac. JMM @ 130, one of the very best p4p fighters in his prime and at his best weight. Pac wins a SD. Floyd fights Judah, a guy who isn't even a HOFamer and just lost to the previously-mentioned journeyman, wins a decision. Edge to Pac. 5/5 Pac > Floyd. No contest. Pac p4p is miles ahead.
surprise surprise from the guy who thinks the difference between the Pac/Floyd vs Hatton odds is comparable to the one between the Floyd/Pac vs Oscar odds. Get real. Check the post above.
That's complete bollocks. Are you really trying to say Pacs win over a skeletal De La Hoya a year further past his prime is way better than Floyds win against younger De La Hoya at his optimum weight. I think Pac is better p4p but you are being incredibly biased and unfair there.
Beating a weight drained De La Hoya and a shot Hatton is more credible than what Floyd did? Really? So by using your logic of who stops who quicker or dominates, we can safely say Camacho is better than Duran as he was able to stop Leonard in 5 rather than scrape a UD right? And I guess Larry Holmes is better than Foreman, Frazier, Liston, Norton and anyone Ali ever faced as he was able to get the towl thrown in, in the 10th round, right? Many feel Pac lost that fight to Marquez, so that's a hard one to call and Floyd's win over Judah was convincing. I have it 4/1 Floyd.
I think May is No.1 if he beats Mosley. It's the current best and a win over a No.3 Mosley and domination of No. 2 Marquez is way better than a win over Cotto and the guy who Cotto beat, and the guy who's spirit Mayweather broke 2 years previous. And if May beats Mosley and Pac beats Clottey, would Mayweather move to No.1 welterweight but still be No.2 p4p?? (if they keep him No.2)
Just to get it out of the way, I don't give Pac a whole lot of credit for beating DLH. Like I said, I don't think Mayweather should be considered P4P best now on the weight of his accomplishments at lowers weights all those years ago. As for the weight issue, its plain to see how the weight affected their opponents. Hatton was a B- fighter at 147 considering the only other time he fought there he lost to Collazo. Floyds win over Hatton was in no way shape or form better than Manny's. Just because it was his first loss doesn't make it better. 10 rounds against Floyd, less than 2 against Manny. He was dominated by Manny from the opening round and sparked out cold, he was competitive against Mayweather for the first six rounds and then, yeah, sparked out cold. Manny's is the better win. Floyd had Marquez move up twelve pounds, Manny made Cotto move down two. Big difference. You can see on film how the weight they were fighting at negatively affected Hatton and Marquez, not so in the case of Hatton/Pac or Cotto/Pac. Hatton was at his preferred weight-class and Cotto looked fine at the catch-weight. Bottomline: Floyd has fought twice in the last three years, Manny has fought 6 times, Floyd has stayed at 147 and fought smaller men moving up, Pacquiao generally was moving up fighting bigger men. Floyd's victories were uninspiring, Pac's were dominant and exciting. There's no argument that Floyd should be ranked higher now, nor if both Floyd and Pac win their upcoming matches. Depending on how they both look, (Pac looks terrible, Floyd god-like) a case could be made in the future. Maybe.
