He did a better job blocking Clottey's punches than your boytoy did of blocking castillo's in the first fight.

So what do you want us to say about him? That he's simply a barroom brawler whose game is "swing until the other man falls"?

It's all relative...someone out there can come up with well thought out reasons why Sugar Ray Robinson is vastly overrated.

Pac hasn't been dropped, stopped, or horribly bloodied? Just because a guy has crap defense doesn't mean he isn't effective. Who the hell said the man wasn't effective? I said he has blah defense. Steve Forbes has great defense. Is he anywhere near as effective as Pac?

I think it is time you stopped reading hate into what is said.

Dude talk to me when you are a regularly attending member at your local boxing club. Maybe then you will know the difference between a comment about one aspect of a fighter's game versus his overall boxing game.

No. There are tons of great defensive fighters. There are tons of great offensive fighters. There are only a select few EFFECTIVE elite fighters. Not every guy is on every list.

I'm not a member of a local boxing club, I am a boxer. And Pac has a good defence. And your post is ****. You simply don't understand that there are different ways of being effective defensively. Pac does not have a sophisticated defensive system like Floyd has, or Toney has, or Sweet Pea had, or Nicolino Locche had. But because his defence is not as good as those guys' does not mean his defence is terrible - it isn't. If it was, he would get visibly hurt more, or dropped more, or stopped more. Pac's defence is built around movement, much like prime Roy Jones's was. He is hard to hit because he is always moving. It's not a defence as aesthetically pleasing as James Toney's, and it's not as good either, but it is still effective. The proof is in the pudding. Pac doesn't ship a lot of punishment, rarely gets wobbled, and when was the last time he got dropped or stopped?

You mean the guy who never on the a-side of a ppv?

OVER rated is an UNDER statement!

Be real. Who said that? He throws punches in bunches with KO power in both fists. If a guy is foolish enough to be stationary or come in and out in a straight line, he will eat a guy up like pine logs in a saw mill.

Dude I like FMJ and he has a great counter punching style with decent, but nowhere near legendary pop. He wins on accumulation of damage at best and on pot shotting at worse. He is a pure boxer. I would look like a fool to go around saying other wise.

No need to start attributing BS attributes to either guy.

Glad to hear it. Keep giving to the sport. Much success to you.

Pac has a good defense? A good defense doesn't let you leave all of your fights, even shut outs, looking like you have been beaten up. Does Pac have "an effective enough defense"? Sure he does. He is an elite level fighter.

I don't want to get into an opposition war with you, but if you look at the man's record and then look at the types of guys he is fighting you know why he isn't getting stopped, hurt, and/or dropped. Match up a fast boxer/puncher with a slow brawler I can tell you the outcome 98% of the time. Match him up with a slick counter puncher? Now you got some fireworks.

I guess here is where I surprise you... RJJ had no defense. RJJ had reflexes. Don't confuse the two. Defense keeps you out of harms way as reflexes fade. Pure reflexes gets you KTFO. In the same breath I can say RJJ was one of the best to ever do it and IMHO was unstoppable in his prime.

BS he is hard to hit. Clottey planted like a heavy bag and STILL banged him from a high guard with zero feints or trickery.

Again to your dropped, stopped, or wobbled (song?) question, when is the last time you have seen him in with a guy not shot, drained, overrated, and/or with a solid (not busted) training camp? JMM? Doh!!!!:patsch

Morales, Barrera or MArquez cannot go up to 140 above and do what Pac does, end of!

NOr can they fight past 30 without being shot, end of!

And how many times in 24 toe-to-toe rounds did JMM hurt, drop or stop him? He wobbled him once in the 2nd fight, and Pac recovered immediately, his "wide open" defence did not see him ship any further punishment after being hurt that one time. JMM is a skilled, aggressive fighter, and he couldn't inflict serious damage on Pac in 24 rounds of war.

Your theory doesn't add up in reality my friend. :good
