    Of course, he was well received when he visited those countries.
    When you mention about the Philippines, they're reminded of Pacquiao.

    that's what I like about that quote. He showed up on the US scene on the Lewis/Tyson undercard and made an impression. Foreman couldn't even pronounce his name.

    Pacquiao no doubt.

    Villa had so much promise though and had in his resume a greater fighter than anyone Pacquiao fought.

    No brainer really.

    He is easily the greatest Asian fighter.

    THe only question here is how he ranks among the greatest ever in the sport.

    Jimmy Wilde, still considered by many to be the best flyweight in the history of the sport. It should be noted that the Mighty Atom was past his prime by this point, but Villa was still a legitimate great at flyweight by all contemporary accounts.
