Considering De La Hoya's eye was blackened in sparring either by Valero or Ortiz depending on which article you want to believe, I'd said the answer is pretty obvious. However I will say that should take nothing away from Pac's performance being that he thoroughly confused Oscar with his movement and quickness and I don't believe that kind of substance could have been duplicated with the same excellence by anybody.

It's not even all about him being confused. Pac was just too f_cking fast.

    :huh

Sometimes it's easier said than done..

Pls see quotes from different personalities in janjalini's post.

I wonder who will have the next free ride when pac beats hatton at 140lbs...

A lot of boxing fans will surely say boxer "A" could have EASILY beaten
Hatton...especially if PAC makes the fight sooo easy!

If you're going to comment on a thread be sure to read previous posts and take those into account before jumping to the conclusion that this is only hate:good

What I have put in bold is NOT what is going on here.

There is no hate whatsoever in my post. Im just giving you something which is expected to happen..

To answer directly to what the T/S wanted to ask.. Mosley is a logical answer.

    cheers!

I really don't see why this is so difficult for you to grasp: Freddie Roach is NOT speaking hypothetically, whereas you are. He is speaking with direct reference to the Pacquiao fight, even if he is not making this explicit. He is only not explicitly stating this because it should be obvious (you are consistently failing to recognize this, but it is clear to the rest of us).

Although he is saying "Oscar is only good for three rounds", he is not stating as proven fact that Oscar's cardio would only be good for 12 minutes movement.

The "three rounds" he is referring to is the three rounds of intense pressure that Manny Pacquiao is going to bring.

Roach is not stating that he knows (he cannot know anyway, only make an educated guess) that Oscar would only be good for 3 rounds against anyone. Do you think Roach thought Oscar would only be good for 3 rounds against an overweight journeyman in his 3rd or 4th fight?? Of course not. He was referring to the Pacquiao fight since that was the subject of the interview!!

As I have already explained, a past-prime and weight-drained Oscar would still have the skills to dictate the pace and outbox a smaller, inferior boxer like Paulie or Holt (just like he did to Forbes at a weight limit only THREE POUNDS higher), because they would not be capable of producing the intensity that allowed Pac to stop him within 9 rounds.

That's my last word of explanation on this thread. If you prefer to childishly cling to the word of a trainer notorious for his spin and self-congratulation as though it was proven Gospel truth (even though you have misinterpreted his word anyway), continue blindly! :good

totally agree:good there are fighters that would have beaten hoya, but not as impressive or dramatic the way pac did it. pac is the most eye pleasing fighter to watch when he is on top form.

this is a common theme on this forum. when pac demolishes an opponent the excuses and fantasy results start flooding in. sometimes pac is too good for his own good.

ODLH couldn't find his target and PAC speed is the biggest factor.
