That first knockdown SHOULD have hurt Pacquiao. Can't take anything away from JMM either. That first KD could have ended it like the second one did. And I don't think it's fair to say "lucky". He did land some heavy shots on Pac in those 6 rounds. The odds of one ending it were constantly getting higher and higher.

Yeah Pac on the back foot was rough to see, but that's what made it work. It was a very interesting and unique fight. Pacquiao is perfect against guys who come forward. He jumps in, batters them, jumps out. If you move back, he can struggle to look good sometimes (with good improvements in the Algeri fight).

The fourth JMM fight was interesting in that JMM wasn't coming forward, wasn't backing up, but also wasn't staying still. Pacquiao backed up at times like we don't see from him but JMM wasn't falling into the trap of trying to pressure him like Cotto or Rios for example. Very strange fight to break down but was an absolutely fantastic fight which Pacman doesn't get any credit for.

the shot from jmm in the 5th round after pac knocked down jmm were roy was shouting oooooh should of ended it as well

again I seen the fight many times and jmm neve really backed pac up like you was expecting a knockout or a stoppage pac has never been backed up for long the only time I can remember was when toni landed that big body shot and pac backed up but he ended the round fighting fire with fire

I suppose you could "say" Pacquiao backs up in every fight, but not in a "I'm getting hit, I'll back off" kind of way. He's always usually the one moving back, but that's really just to get his opponent's to fight him at his distance since he can cut the space so rapidly then circle out of danger. JMM had Pacquiao backing up at times thinking "**** he got me good there".

Pac's chin is fine, but it's hard to evaluate. After getting KO'd he's fought weak opposition with the exception of Bradley. But Bradley was never a dangerous fighter, no power. I think they are fighting light welterweights to protect Manny from getting hurt.

His Chin has been Shattered hence why they are putting him in there with handpicked feather fisted opposition.

That JMM punch hit him with Marquez' full bodyweight behind him while Pac himself was moving forward. If you've tried boxing you know that's about as bad as it gets.

Rios tageed him good several times. Bradley was putting everything behind his punches too and he got Pac flush several times (especially that ground-lifting one) and Pac remained standing up.
I say his chin is still good, if not decent, but nowhere near "china".

His chin is less tough than it used to be.

A big puncher could knock him down atleast.

My exact sentiments. Pac-JMM 4 is the stuff of legends. It's a pity that re+arded fans of both, including fl0m0s, are putting a bad taste on everyone's mouth regarding it.
It's one of those short, but infinitely action-packed and high-caliber matches that will be talked about for ages, kinda like Hagler-Hearns.
I always maintained my position that Pac-JMM tetralogy is the Ali-Frazier trilogy of this era. And none has even come close to changing my mind yet.

He hasnt faced a puncher since Marquez, so its hard to say. Rios is the only recent opponent that has decent power, but he wasn't able to land much flush or sit down on his punches vs. a mobile Manny.

That Hagler - Hearns comment annoyed me. EVERY fight on Fight Night haha.

But yeah this KO6 bull****. The fight was epic. Sad that my man lost but defo an instant classic.

For you guys saying Pac hasn't faced a power puncher since, look at the shots Bradley was throwing in their second fight. I agree that Bradley isn't a power puncher, but he was throwing HAYMAKERS in that fight, probably expecting Pacquiao's chin to be "cracked" which was a fair guess.

Pac can be KOed with some big shots. He always could. It's just probably more of a risk now. His skillset certainly hasn't been hindered though.
