Is Pacquiao's power overrated at 147?

He hasn't had a knockout at Welterweight. His last knockout was Cotto at 145 catchweight in 2009.

His power at 122-126 was totally shocking. It tapered off a little at 130 and higher, but was still lethal until 140.

No because they go in to survival mode hard to ko someone when they are just there to try and make it to round 12 losing every round

Most of them go into a shell. Margarito, Algieri, Clottey either ran or put up their guard.

But that never saved anybody in the lower weights.

I feel like people just assume he's this big power puncher because of his work in MUCH lower weight classes.

I'm not seeing it at 147.

Seen him put guys into survival mode, guys stop trying to win and don't want to exchange. Is he the ko artist? No, but his speed and power is more then enough at 147'.

He's putting world champions, some known for their iron chins, into survival mode. I'd say his power is pretty damm good.

Case in point, look at Barrera 2, MAB went into survival mode and Pac wasn't dropping him.

The true testament to his power is watch when he catches them, Cotto, Mosley, Algerie, heck even Margarito was permanently damaged.

Barrera 2 was at 130 pounds. And Barrera 1 was at 126 where he was totally shell shocked.

Having seen most of Pacquiao's fights from 122 on up he didn't seem to carry his signature power to 147. I'm not saying he can't punch at Welterweight, but he's not exactly banging at the weight anywhere near what he did in the lower weights.

He knocked out every opponent from 130-140 aside from MAB and JMM, and as already mentioned, MAB fought to survive and JMM he put on his ass like in the first fight at 126.

His power was still scary enough for Floyd to warrant accusations, his father to fear for his life, for Roger to compare him to soldiers taking bullets and Floyd to admit he's a rich coward worried for his health.

Is this a preview of what's in store May 3rd?

"Floyd beat a feather-fist blown-up old midget stylistically tailor made for him, no credit. :bart"

145 is welterweight. Thomas Hearns weighed 145 for the first Leonard fight.

Anything from 141 to 147 is welterweight.

Manny stopped Cotto and De La Hoya at welterweight. (Not to mention beating the living hell out of Margarito at 154.)

That's pretty good. If he stops Mayweather at welterweight, too, all the better.

    Pacquaio TKO7.

The thing is, Manny isn't losing weight to make welter. He's used to fighting guys now that are losing weight to make weight--thus making him the naturally smaller guy. It's not that his power is overrated, but, he's just fighting guys who are naturally bigger than him.
