Fair enough, I was taking the commet in context of the subject is all.

The Donaire win was spectacular, very underrated in the grand scheme of things. Rigo has great boxing skills sure, but to say Pac is nowhere close is unfair, apples to oranges. That is a far separate conversation than the one at hand however. Talkin resumes man.

Pbf shut jmm out and jmm wasn't willing to take a rematch despite the fact he would have gotten a career high payday and a shot at redemption but he was willing to fight Pac 4 times let that sink in.

If you put Calzaghe in the discussion then Wlad Klitschko surely has to be in the discussion as well, not by any spectacular career defining moment but purely from body of work and domination. Not saying he has an argument for best resume or anything, but he would be on the shortlist.

I agree with you though, Pacman stands alone when compared to the rest.

    He was linear/lineal at 126, 130, 140 and 147.

He was the best in the division at 135, but moved up before he could face Casomayer for the linear 135.

That maaaaaaaay be true, but it hardly matters much.

You overlooked the x-factor, the intangibles.

Both men had the 'right stuff' but Pac had an extra can of it.

At 168, James Toney was a 'better' boxer that Roy Jones Junior. Way better fundamentals, more skilled.

But when they met, Roy won every minute of every round.

Pac would have put Donaire to sleep at 122 or 126.

    ps
(Actually, he would have eaten him alive. Not many people know this, but there is nothing Pac likes to eat more, than a well seasoned Donaire. Extra cheese, no onions)

    pps

(Not many people know this, Pac's favourite drink is a Margarito, with a little extra rum)

It's the best and deepest resume of the last 30 years. And it's one of the best EVER.

What Manny has done has been extraordinary! We won't see it again in our lifetime.

Well you have a point there.

But it's a really small, minor, insignificant point. (I can't think of a suitably small other thing to compare it to just now, but I'll give that matter some thought...maybe a mosquito's testicle ? )

It wouldn't have made a lick of difference what weight Toney came in at, he was gonna get toyed with, by the lesser skilled, but better, RJJ.

BHop wasn't weight trained, and he too had better fundamentals and was more skilled, but was decisively beaten by the less skilled but very much better Kock-fighter, rap artist, raconteur and pugilist we know as Roy. Y'all must fo'got !

And Cotto was definitely weight drained, not a question about that.

The dude was a full, beefy, stout 146 jus' four months earlier 'gainst Clottey and the Filipino drained him down to to an emaciated 145. Miguel looked like he hadn't eaten in months !

Au contraire, Mr. Ears, it's like the great aficionado of the sweet science, Albert Einstein (TIME's Man of the Century,
    no less !) said:

"Not everything that can be measured is important, and not everything that is important can be measured"

Such prose ! If that man's mother tongue had been English, you can bet your foreskin we wouldn't be hearing as much about what a great writer Shakespeare was.

    But I digress....

Point is, the x-factor is that thing that cannot be quantified. It's units are not lbs nor Kg nor inches nor cm...

    It just is.

Everbody has at least a little bit of it.

But some have more of it than others...and the little video-game icon's namesake had a lot more of it than his countryman named for the delicious wrap.

BTW, All of this could be shown mathematically, if only we still had ChinaHandJoe to consult.
