Is Pacquiao's ring age truly more than Mayweather's?

Note: I'm a statistic guy so I love this stuff.

I see this a lot, some say that despite Pac's age, he has more ring age than Mayweather. But let's break this down a little bit. Pulled from BoxRec:

    Manny Pacquiao

    = 64
    rounds boxed 407 KO% 59.38 Floyd Mayweather

    +
    This content is protected
    +
    This content is protected
    = 47
    rounds boxed 363 KO% 55.32
    Here's some interesting points.
    • Pacquiao has been in 17 more fights
    • Pacquiao has boxed only 44 more rounds than Floyd
    • 44 rounds is equal to 3.91 fights so, by rounds boxed, he's had only about 4 more fights than Floyd
    • Pacquiao is 2 years younger than Floyd, at Pac's average fighting rate, he'd have 4 fights in 2 years.
    • By rounds boxed, assuming they're all championship fights, Pacquiao (36) has 34 fights, Mayweather (38) has 30 fights.
So my question is this: Does Pacquiao's 2 year age advantage negate the ring age he has over Mayweather?

For the record, IMO, I believe they are both roughly equally passed prime and on even terms. I also believe, that whether the fight happened in 2009, 2015, or 2021, the result would be the same.

Eh... you are giving Floyd a lot of rounds that nothing happened in. Truth of the matter is a lot of Floyd fights are full of filler. They are not drop down, drag out wars like Pac.

stopped reading after you said boxed only 44 more rounds do you know that starts to add up once you age?

you ****ing dummy pac has taken far more punishment even if they had the same amount of fights pacs ring age would be more because of the wars his been in

why don't you get a stat about how pac has been landed on flush much more than duckweather?

I thought you had boxing experience? 17 more fights means 17 more training camps means 17 more gruelling, exhausting, nerve-wracking experiences.

You can't equate them by rounds boxed! Its like saying one guy slept with 18 women once, and the other slept with 1 woman 18 times, but they both have equal ***ual experience.

Pac has a handful of fights like that, most of his fights he's dominating. He hasn't been in a war since Marquez, and before that? Most of Pac's fights are a one sided beat down

No, Floyd still has the edge imo.

Pac started earlier, stayed active(didn't retire) and fought more wars.

This shouldn't even be a question. Were not even adding in the fact that he got ko'ed

I did take into account the training but didn't include it. If that's the case, should we include amateur background? :think

No doubt Floyd has the edge, but I don't believe that Pacquiao is shot or that Pacquiao is much more passed it than Floyd. No doubt Floyd is fresher, but I don't believe it's a difference maker in this fight.

    :huh

It's a yes or no question, I'm not making an argument to say Pacquiao is prime or they are equal.
