Maybe it would be better to compare the compubox rather than the boxrec numbers. Mayweather rarely gets hit ten times a round whereas Pacquiao has been in a lot of wars. Check how many times they've been hit, not just how many rounds they've fought.

Rounds would be a good way to compare Mayweather to Whitaker or Pep, but the styles are all different between May and Pac. I also have to wonder if sparring rounds should be taken into account too? If you look at James Toney, he has 90 fights, but has a reputation of only wanting to spar as exercise in the gym, so his ring age might actually be a couple of times that number.

The real truth is if your going to look at the picture, you have to look at the big picture, yes that means amatuer career as well. Doesn't amatuer careers count in terms of rounds boxed, despite the head gear? If you googled Pacquiao's amatuer career 3-4 years ago, you'd have found that he didn't have one, if you google it now, it states he had something like 60+ fights. Mayweather on the other hand has had 90, these rounds count as well. I personally believe Mayweather has more ring wear than Pacquiao, especially when you've consistently been the smaller guy.

Okay so let's put it like this. Let's say Pac wins, do you think Floyd woulda lost in his prime?

I think either fighter winning or losing will always bring into question who would have won in their prime. I think a victory now is still significant right now say for rankings and glory, but not really in historical perspective. Both fighters are fighting at the tail end of their careers.

Yea I thought Pac didn't have one as well. Makes perfect sense for those comparing training.

If Floyd loses now, I think he would've lost all along, and vice versa.

Pacquiao has over 64 fights and his fighting style is to slug it out.

    mean while......

    - Mayweather retired for almost 2 years after the Hatton fight.

    - Mayweather only fought ONCE in 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012.

In terms of ring age, Pacquiao is older who has been in many wars.
    End Thread. :deal

If you're asking who has deteriorated more physically I'd say Mayweather, if you watch him at 130lbs and watch him against Maidana it's widely apparent he has gotten slower, less mobile, less active.

Can't say the same about Pacquiao who looked good against Algieri and also looked about the same in both Bradley fights, arguably better the 2nd time around.

Its hard to gauge how far past Manny really is. Floyd's advantage over pacquiao is solely boxing. Pacquiao has speed & power. PAC has declined but keep in mind, he is #2 p4p still extremely fast and powerful. Its still a 50/50 fight in my opinion, both have god given talents and still #1 & #2 .

Im not sure what this man is asking.

Yes Floyd is two years older, so yes Manny is two years younger . Hello!!!

In the time they have both been pro , Manny has fought more times, harder times and until Hatton he was the B side.

Floyd on the other hand has been groomed for greatness since the Olympics and yes has had some challenges but was never ever in the same position as the young Filipino.

Floyd ring age is about 32 - 33.

    Mannys ring age - 35.

So yes Manny is younger by two years but three years older in the ring and ring age is like dog years, much much more aging.

Its a simple question, the question was "Is Pacquiao's ring age truly more than Mayweather's?"

    Yes.

You just said ring age then obviously Pac has more ring age. But if the question was who is older? then it's Mayweather. A fighter's age has nothing to do with the thread title question and the topic. Why is there even a need to debate this....
