I'll preface this by saying I think he won the fight, I had him at 115-113 ultimately owing to neither boxer doing much in multiple rounds, and a lot of the punches that both thrown being caught on the gloves or slipped, meaning you default to ring generalship and who is controlling the fight; very hard to say you're doing that if you're constantly moving backwards and not landing counter shots frequently.

In saying that, I don't think I've ever seen a boxer as bad at fundamental things as Parker. He's got decent handspeed, a decent chin and decent stamina but no boxing intelligence.

The biggest thing to note about his style is he has no understanding of distance, he constantly "falls" into his opponent at a time where he could throw multiple punches from the right distance, meaning for a guy like Fury with a set/clinch/reset style, he's never going to look impressive nor give himself the opportunity to land.

The second thing to note is how open the body was, and even after he had tremendous success doubling up the jab to the body and following with the hook, he only did that for a round before forgetting that it was working.

Lastly; his footwork is terrible; he was stumbling all over the show and not once did he anticipate the pattern or movement of Fury; Fury was so often doing a five step left, then switching to the right - any other fighter would have saw this pattern eventually and looked to load up a counter as soon as Fury hit his pattern steps for movement.

Terrible boxing fight; one guy didn't want to fight, and the other guy didn't seem to know how.

That is a bit too harsh, Parker is a good fighter.

Good call on Martin; I keep forgetting we're supposed to consider the IBF an actual title and not just some hamfisted **** like it actually is.

Yeah, stealing the strap off Fury and suspiciously making its way to Joshua makes that title meaningless. That's like when Jr Ended up with DM's titles and started calling himself the number 1 guy in the division.

Martin or Stiverne.. perhaps, Martin. At least, Stiverne scored a good knockout against Arreola.

I don't think too highly of Parker boxing skills either, but at least he defeated (albeit each of these wins might be considered arguable) Takam, Andre Ruiz Jr and now Hughie Fury. This makes a solid resume in the current heavyweight division.

You're completely overreacting. Today Parker had to constantly run after a guy who simply didn't want to fight. Parker isn't an aggressive fighter which is why he looked worse than usual. Who else will he have to chase down for 12 rds? Not Wilder, Ortiz, Joshua, Whyte, Pulev, Povetkin, or anyone else who is at the top of the division and could be a potential fight.

I doubt he beats Wilder, Ortiz or Joshua but he will at least fight his usual boxing style working off of the jab if he does fight them.

But Stiverne has at least 2 wins over Arreola and a win over Ray Austin

Martin just has a fluke win over Glazkov and never ever beat properly top-50 opponent
