Pwill is the baddest Mother****er from 147 to 160 and you wanna say he is over rated? Pwill couldnt be in a boring fight if he ever tried. The guy is pure excitement! he even made the winky fight interesting and winky can stink out almost any joint.

    somewhat yes

the martinez fight will answer some of the questions

there is this perception here that Williams is dominant at 147-160

when in reality at 147 he barely beat Margocheato, beat Quintana after losing to him
at 154 beat a shot verno phillips who had no right even holding that title
and beat a very inactive past it Wright.

The Pavlik fight would of answered it all, and I dont blame Williams for that fiasco, but just cause that fight didnt happened doesnt mean Williams deserves the praise as though he won it.

The reason he isnt more widely known is that these guys wont fight him. Pwill will fight anyone. How many other welter weights would go to 160 and fight pavlik, the undisputed 160 champ? None, what does that tell you?

well he can get overrated by some people on ESB, im a pwill fan and i dont agree with 70% of the BS his fanatics say. such as he's better than hearns, leonard etc. thats insanity, but i think he's p4p status by todays standards, to early to tell where he stands in terms of all time p4p.

but he has other options like Clottey and if thats not enough why doesnt he do the same thing he did to get a fight with margo, campaign for a belt and force the fight on the champion. Im actually abit surprised he hasnt done this considering how much more money is involved at 147 then there are 154 and 160.

i love paul williams but clottey is a tough fight for any one... and by the way according to the general public hes vastly underrated ( williams i mean) but on this site he is way overrated, he beat a faded winky who had not fought in 18 months, edged a limited margarito ( whom by the way on this site everyone has always claimed margarito sucked and was a terrible boxer) , did lose his first bout with a gatekeeper type fighter in quintana. The problem with williams is he has been a bit inconsistent at times, but hopefully we will all find out where he really stands in the coming months, if he looks impressive and beats martinez, who himself is very underrated and then can get 2 more high profile wins next year , i think he will truly deserve the high acolades this site has prematurely awarded him.
