I've been thinking about this fight, and the consensus seems to be that Broner will win or surely stop Malignaggi. But Broner is moving up 2 weight classes after moving up 1 weight class before that. he's really a small guy. do you think Malignaggi's size advantage will be evident in the ring next saturday?

while most people don't think Malignaggi can hurt anyone, can broner really hurt Paulie?

Broner's training pics he did look ripped, but he's still two inches shorter then Paulie and has only a very slight reach advantage. this is the biggest guy Broner's ever fought, and I was wondering how you guys think Broner will do at welterweight. this is an intriguing fight and i really can't wait until next weekend.

Paulie is a natural JWW and Broner is big at 135, no issue in natural size in my opinion.

Edit - Plus Paulie has declined as shown by his gift against Cano

bro it doesn't really matter these things ! The problem is that Broner is a protected-hyped fighter who's careful matched against past-prime / B-C+ level fighters with a strap and a high profile ! Paulie is a featherfisted fighter / past of his prime but he has a trinket and a good profile ! Broner will beat him / even t/k.o him and people will start to ultra-hype Broner saying that he's the new Floyd Mayweather ! :nut:patsch

Broner didn't fight the top guys from his division in Vasquez, Burns or Abril and yet he's the No 1 at lw. and the No 6 p4p ! :nut:lol:

I'd have appreciated him if he would've fought these guys (Vasquez, Burns and Abril), beat them and then move up @ jr ww and challenge Matthysse or Garcia !
    :yep

i guess the better question is can Broner really stop Malignaggi? can he hurt Paulie? Broner is big for 135, and does look ripped from the training pictures. but i still feel like Paulie has a lot of things going for him. He's fighting in his hometown, and if he can be competitive in the early rounds, the crowd could really get behind him.

What do you guys expect Paulie's ring attire to be? It might be smart to tone down the flamboyant ring attire and to show up with a more conventional ring attire. I truly believe he is a better fighter now then when he fought Amir Khan. the fighter that showed up to fight Khan would have little chance against Broner, but I'm hoping we see a focused and serious Paulie against Broner who sticks to a gameplan. He's on a 5 fight winning streak and this is his big chance. Broner doesn't use much lateral movement, so I think Paulie's best chance is to start the fight by jabbing and setting up the occasional right hand, go in and out and land without getting hit too much.

Paulie's got a good chin too and he should be able to hit Broner. I dunno, Broner is the favourite for me, but there is a big element of uncertainty because he is Stepping up in weight class and division simultaneously. Could be that he is even stronger at ww and will have blistering pace because he is coming up from a lower division. Conversely, if he can't hurt Paulie and isn't able to get out of the way of his punches it could be a very long night for him. Time will tell.

Have a funny feeling Broner will look big compared to Paulie come fight night.

Paulie has spent the best part of his career at 140.. Broner is absolute huge for 135, think he came into the ring at around 150 for the Rees fight.

No. Not too big. I'd venture to say that tonite, you'll be surprised at how big Broner looks in there. He won't be taller, but broader. As for the fight, it's a good fight for a guy moving up to ww. Paulie won't put Broner's lights out, but he will hang in there, is tough and can box a bit.

Though I would love to see a win for Paulie, I don't think Broner will struggle enough, if that makes sense, to give Paulie an edge. I'm excited to see this fight, but my bet is still on a Broner victory.

Much as I'd like ta see Paulie give Broner a boxing lesson, think Broner will cut him down to size.

This fight could get interesting if Paulie fights off the back foot and makes Broner come to him- in which case, can he play matador successfully for 12 rounds? To me, that's the only way Paulie can possibly win this fight. If Broner's allowed to get set, nothing Paulie can score with will offset what Adrien will do to him.

Paulie's got to make Broner come to him so he can most effectively utilize his size, reach, and movement. I see no other realistic way for him to win this one. He can't fight as bad as he did against Cano and hope to win, and I'm sure even Paulie knows that.
