He is probably my favorite boxer out here right now. I get on here quite often to read everybody's threads. Most of you guys are really knowledgeable, and give really good insight on the sport of boxing. But i always here about how pavlik is so terrible. he has only lost to two great fighters. I would just like some explanation as to why you guys think he is
    so terrible?

He's not terrible, but he's certainly not the fighter than obliteradted Miranda any more. The Hopkins loss seemed to hurt him as did his alchohol problems and long lay off. I enjoy his fights though, he's generally very good value for money.

So would u say the chances of him becoming a top fighter again are slim to none?

Slim, I think. There are some very talented fighters in his division.

Tough to say IMO. He went through so much **** that he's never been at 100% for a fight in a long while. When that happens it will tell us what he has left. So far from his recent training videos it looks like the power is still there as well as the volume but unless he is in a real fight it will be hard to tell. His loss to Hopkins had the same effect that Hatton's loss to Mayweather. But he seems to put it all behind him now. @160 he has a future, @168 he has a few beatings waiting for him. If I were his promoter I will try to put him back on track for a year then get him a fight vs Martinez who's not getting any younger and who will eventually decline.

Quite possibly, only time will tell really, would be great if he could become a top dog at 160lbs again.

I just can't see him coming back to the heights he once scaled.I always thought he was a tad overrated but a long layoff added to all the other stuff makes the chances of a glorious return very slim at best.
Scott Harrison is allegedly targeting a world title in a year and he has even less chances for similar reasons.

Let's see how he does in his next fight.
From what I'm hearing he is brutalizing his sparring partners!
