Is Pavlik The Great White Hype?

I think Taylor was elite after he won twice Hopkins!

 

I think Pavlik is overhyped, but I don't think it has much to do with his whiteness. I think it's because he's a gutsy fighter who put up some very entertaining performances, and scored some great knock outs.

LOL. Pavlik has proven himself it is not like he is a Gerry Cooney who has not beat anyone. These threads are laughable. Kelly Pavlik is legit some people don't want him to be but he is.

 

If your a fan of his you should be happy he's knocking anybody out...regardless of race.

Pavlik is a good fighter, I dont think its because he is white, he gets the praise. Recall the 1980's with Tyson??? As some unbeatble GOD by the press?? Pavlik ant getting non of that type of hype. The type I see is who will be the man to beat him lol.

 

Good Post. Pavlik has a great combination of boxing fundmentals, power, and stamina. He is far more skilled than the critics, doubters, and haters give him credit for.

His resume' is still a little thin, but sometimes the way you win is almost as important as who you beat. Ten of Pavlik's last eleven fights ended in knock outs, and seven of those guys had never been stopped before.

People accuse Pavlik of just plodding forward, but that is pure bull****. Pavlik focuses on his opponents flaws, and uses them to score. McKart held his left to high with his elbow out away from his body. Miranda can't fight going backwards. Taylor kept his left to low, et.

Many people just never pick up on what Kelly really does in the ring. Here's a good example. When Andrade rolls with punches everyone sings his praises. When Pavlik does it he has leaky defense! Here's another; when Abraham throws a lunging right hand, and puts everything from his toes up into it, he's the greatest KO puncher ever. When Pavlik produces power almost efortlessly with both hands, he's slow and one dimensional!

All and and all, I'd say Pavlik is still under rated on ESB by quite a bit.

 

From my perspective, he has a better perspective on Pavlik than your perspective on Kessler. Of course I myself would not beleive anyone that uses perspective 3 times in the same sentence.

 

The way Pavlik knocked out Taylor, I think he would be bigger if he wasnt white. He would be already like Hopkins. I dont like threads like this, but for some reason I wrote in it to give my opinion.

 

Yes. It is not his skin colour, it is his nationality. Lets not forget the hype around the unmistakably black Jeff "Left Hook" (LMFAO) Lacy.
