both are apparently on comebacks at middleweight having bad luck at the higher weights but Kelly Pavlik despite his mishaps with the law and alcohol still seems to be better off, only time will tell how much Taylor has left in the tank but with Pavlik gunning for a showdown with Chavez and possibly a return with Martinez will Taylor have booked a rubber match with the Youngstown, Ohio native?
Im sorry, ill talk about Mayweather-Pacquiao and how the Klitschkos are ruining boxing non stop atsch Well I can honestly see Taylor on route to another title, wouldnt mind seeing him in the ring VS Kerry Hope and Proksa, Chances are Chavez will duck Martinez again and I actually give Kelly some hope of beating him and lord knows bob wont risk putting Pavlik in the ring with him again plus Pavlik Taylor 3 would be a money maker ( given that Taylor doesnt lose again ) and we all know how much bob loves the money
Pavlik don't want that fight he won both fights fair and square no need for a rubber match. I doubt Taylor really wants to fight Pavlik again anyhow unless he is crazy. Taylor's cranium heath don't need the kocking tfo again.
Not that im disagreeing with you, Pavlik is Taylors worst nightmare on any night but theyre in the same division again and both trying to get a big pay day and a belt, theres still a possibilty this fight could happen, I mean Roy Jones got KTFO twice and beaten up again by Tarver yet somehow got put in against Calzaghe, Hopkins and Lebedev
Maybe your right, I don't know how often a boxer gets a third shot at another boxer after getting beat fair and square the first two times though. Pavlik has very little to gain by fighting Taylor again. I guess from Taylor perspective the fight might make more sense because he has not beat Pavlik yet. If I was managing Pavlik I would want him to fight another tune up maybe Andy Lee then fight Chavez Jr and then Martinez. If he was successful with those fights maybe he could give Taylor another chance. After all Taylor helped out Pavlik so it would be fair to give Taylor a pay day.
Taylor did not help Pavlik out. KP was the mandatory after TWO title eliminators. Miranda was supposed to get rid of Pavlik. That was HBO's plan.
Yeah I remember that a little bit now that you mention it. If that's the case then Pavlik should not give Taylor a shot at him again. I thought Taylor gave Pavlik a shot at the championship, but I guess he had no choice. I always think if someone gives you a chance you should help them when you have the chance. If Martinez for instance does not give Pavlik a rematch I will lose respect for him.
Chavez is the most likely option, its a nice in house fight for bob, but then how many big names does Toprank have at 160? Martinez gets avoided like the plauge so i dont think well be seeing that fight for a while then you got someone who Pavlik could easily beat for a lot of money in Taylor Booradleys right btw, Pavlik earned the title shot then gave Taylor a return so theres no real returning favor, however if Taylor Pavlik 3 Happened would you watch?
Yes I would watch Taylor vs Pavlik 3. If Pavlik beat Chavez and then Martinez I guess there might be a Martinez rematch. Then Pavlik could stay at 160 or try moving up and beating Ward or Bute. Maybe someone like Taylor might make sense. Pavlik might want some easier pay days before moving up and fighting Ward and Bute.
Martinez wouldn't take a rematch a mere four pounds up. If Kelly beats him in the rematch look for Sergio to head south to 154. Kelly was landing on him and he didn't like it. They showed him on the screen in AC and you could tell he was not happy with the way the fight had turned before the cut.
Yeah I remember that I was a little angry that Martinez did not return Pavlik the favor, but you know what? I think this has all worked out for the best for Pavlik with Martinez not giving him the rematch. Because in my opinion Pavlik training with Garcia is a good move now. I did not used to think that, but now I do.
