He was hurt by Corley but never went down, and he never really was knocked down by Castillo. Has this ever happened before??

Zab got a clear KD against him in their fight making Floyd's glove touch the canvas briefly with a counter, but the referee missed it. And when he broke his hand against Carlos Hernandez, his glove touched the canvas then, which was called a KD.

I agree I don't think that the official KD against Hernandez was really that meaningful but it is cancelled out by the fact that Zab was not given proper credit for his KD as he should have.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Lamotta was ever down.

Ha ha, I do agree with that to an extent, just wanted to see if he had never been KD'd for the trivia.

LaMotta was down against a light heavyweight contender by the name of Danny Nardico towards the end of Jakes career.

Vitali is fighting again soon if he can stay free of injuries, so the deal isn't really sealed on him yet.

I'm sure there are plenty of guys who retired without ever having been knocked down, just history doesn't necessarily remember their names. There are so many guys who aren't ATG quality fighters who are on the verge of retiring who have never been down (McCall, Baldomir, McCullough, Tackie, Glen Johnson - although he was once stopped on TKO without going down, etc.), and so many other second and third tier fighters who have only been down once on flash knockdowns (N'Dou, Andrade, Ding, Marion Wilson, etc.) that I have to imagine there have been many others, probably some of whom didn't even end their careers with winning records.

One prominent one who was never knocked down was George Chuvalo, thought to maybe have the best chin ever. Fought all the heavy hitters in the 70's, never touched the canvas once.
