possibly the single worst boxing related sentence i have read, and i've read some scott gilfoid articles
Some of Pernell's opposition does get overrated by his fans though, especially Buddy McGirt and Julio Cesar Vasquez.
Cotto's decent. Zab is the very definition of placeholder champion, though. Nothing special historically at all.
I'd say they're both 'decent'. They're both made up to be considerably more than that by many, although I agree Cotto is the superior operator, Zab more flashy so I can see why he catches the eye. Well, quick. Good morning by the way , well over here it's 06:34:hi:
You can't be called the man at the weight when you draw with one of your opponents and many think you arguably lost. Personally I thought Pac edged the first fight, but I can see how many feel differently. Of course, he did his best work at featherweight imo. If he established himself anywhere it was there. But even there he had his blemishes, like an older Morales, who managed to edge him. He's not better than Nelson and Chavez, two guys Whitaker danced circles around by the way :good The Hatton win was a really good win, but he soon skipped out of the division without matching some of the other guys there. Hatton was the most high profile fighter in the division, so you can say he beat the best there, but imo, at that time Hatton was no longer the best in the division. As for the Bradley win, another good win for Pac, but I had it much closer, 7-5 or so. I think again his struggles with Marquez and failure to meet Floyd (not saying it's his fault) stop him from being regarded the man in that division. Most felt JMM was robbed in the 3rd Marquez fight. Personally I think a draw could have been justified... One of his best performances, probably his second best after the Barrera fight. I value the Cotto win, I don't really think Cotto suffered from weight draining the way Emile Griffith did against Napoles. Cotto still looked sharp and crisp. The size disparity made it impressive, but Margo was pretty much done by that stage. Whitaker would look infinitesimal next to a 160/168 pounder. Pac although outweighed, did a great job of bulking up as he rose through the weights and doesn't look that out of place there. It's impressive that he was able to do it, hardly any other fighter has been able to do that. But his skills have still been found wanting on occasion and that matters to me. It's not simply because he has been facing great fighters that he is found wanting. He simply lacks a level of skill refined to deal with certain types of styles and hence his struggles. How did you know I thought he won 4 rounds? I nenver mentioned it in this thread.... Now I KNOW you're not an alt :good I thought he won 4, I think you could argue two. Either way though, he got thrashed. Never hid from that fact. He made it kind of competitive but all in all got a beating. Not really. I think all my scorecards are logical. I can see by your 10-2 Pac vs. Bradley that you're biased straight off though. Wouldn't be the betting favourite, but he'd beat him all the same :good
Only to a complete dick that started watching boxing around 2005 & is too ignorant to check any sort of history of the sport.
By the way, if I had to guess the alt of ushvinder I'd say it's Brownpimp88. Same petulant, puerile combativeness as that guy.
Margo' was completely shot, and had looked completely uninspiring in his comeback fight with Alvarez.
Your too ignorant to realize pac was a freakin flyweight-featherweight caliber of a fighter. You keep saying this fighter was shot, that fighter was shot. Buddy Mcgirt clearly wasnt in his prime in the re-match and he had an injured shoulder the first time. Also going by your criteria, frankie ****** already clearly beat him and meldrick stopped him, so I could care less about Pernell's win over mcgirt. Manny beating all of those guys as a clearly smaller fighter is incredible, go ahead and nitpick those wins, pernell wasnt beating fighters in thier prime.
