Who's the better fighter you've seen: Pernell Whitaker or Roy Jones?
(I got Pea myself, along with Duran)

against mostly lesser opposition, roy looks a bit better given his dynamic offense. however, even against toney (weight drained, blah blah) jones was soooo incredibly dominant and looked just as good as whitaker did against mcgirt and nelson

    Pea.

RJJ was a spectacle. Fundamentally, he wasn't a technical wizard like Pea.

    Fair enough, Crawler.

Pea was pretty unorthodox himself. His radar and ability to throw off an opponent's timing, use of angles to make them miss and land counters was almost anti-fundamentals at times. He was an imaginative genius. More sound than RJJ, but great and heavy on natural gifts and ability.

You simply can't teach what either of them had or did in the ring.

Pea is the best fighter I've seen aside from Robinson. Immensely talented and made it look so natural. A cats pube above Jones.

I can't be gassed enough to put a numerical order together.

    Duran
    Pea
    Jones
    Robinson
    SRL
    Gavilan
    Chavez
    Hearns

Napoles, LMR, Arguello, Gomez, Sanchez all great. Probably amongst them.

I haven't seen enough of Flea's boy Chang or SS's baby Marcel.

    Armstrong
    Duran
    Leonard
    Hearns
    Ali
    Marciano

And then probably canto or pep I'm not sure.

Canto? Are you mental? Chang would kick his ass.

@ HOI I'll vouch for Marcel as well. You watched the Gomez fight? And have you seen the Shibata fight? Have you seen the Arguello fight?

Let me know and I'll set summat private up if you need 'em pal :good

tbh after Ali I think it's fairly open. I'm on the fence with rocky and put him to see reaction. Canto impressed me when I watched him enough.

Loads of honourable mentions really. Hard to whip up a list without missing someone out.

And most importantly, Pea actually sought out what Jones took great pains to avoid; real challenges in the ring.

Disclaimer; What Jones sought to avoid for most of his post-168 career :good
