Defense needs to improve a lot, the standard at mw is sergio and jcc jr, both of em beats em down at this point
I don't think so. He has a few things to work on but he's definitely promising. I like watching him fight and he seems like a good guy so I'll be cheering him on. I'd love to see him in with the Geale v Sturm winner.
i like him. heavy handed, and his videos with elie seckbach show he has a good personality. he should be in some good fights with the other top contenders soon hopefully.
I like Kid choclate potential, I think he is ready to contend for a title, he should defintely go for the geale v sturm winner and then right to the winner of chavez v martinez....
I am a fan, he has power and a great frame for MW. I don't know how he would do at an elite level though.
I wouldn't say underrated he's pretty much universally acknowledged as the # 2 or 3 guy in the division....he's good but he's a clear level below Golovkin in my eyes
The guy is nothing special. He has average hand speed and reflexes. He's just not that fast and you normally expect black boxers to possess superior hand speed/reflexes. He's a level below the elite imo even though he's a champ. I think Jacobs beats him quite handily if they ever fought.
Going by his last fight, Quillen is OVERRATED. He is not at that level and it is a matter of time. Exposure will come.
The problem is that he's making very sloppy mistakes against showcase opponents....it doesn't inspire much confidence that he'll be able to fix that when he steps his competition up. The fact that he has promotional power and still hasn't stepped up yet is a major red flag about how his own team feels about him.
No Could not stop him even though he knocked him down 6 times and got outboxed quite a bit. Quillin is almost an overachiever.
I like Quillin, he has a generally aggressive style with a big punch, throw in his flaws like how he was outboxed every round by HNN or hurt multiple times by Rosado, he's a fun guy to watch. I wish GB would've had Quillin more active and I think he would've benifited from it. Two things that irk me most about Quillin was that he gained most of his credibility off beating fighters who were on a big slide (Brinkley, McKewan, Wright) and he's recently become very risk adverse making it clear he'll take his $300k paydays on undercards against lower level contenders than stepping up to prove himself as top title holder. This year alone he balked about fighting Macklin, Jacobs, and Mora. It'll be interesting, at the end of the year he will have to face his mandatory which could either be BJ Saunders or Korobov.
