Is Phil Davis the only man who can take down Jon Jones?

phil davis is the only hope for the 205 weight division.

 

I saw Davis vs. Rogerio. Maybe you guys didn't. If he wants to continue his MMA career, I'd tell my handler to milk his time in the UFC and avoid Jones as much as possible.

 

The difference is that Jones is not only bigger (longer) but stronger than the rest in the division. he is athletically gifted and knows how to use his gifts to his advantage. Add to that he is a naturally bad vicious mother ****er, who doesn't try to sugar coat anything while in the ring and has bad intentions with every elbow or strike, makes him a hard guy to beat right now. Only remains to be tested is his durability, but he has so much going for him that it may take a while before he gets in a position to where his durability gets tested.

 

Rashad Evans wrestling is sick. I don't like the dude but his wrestling could give jones a lot of problem.

 

Thats another guy that should milk his time in the UFC and avoid Bones because when Jones is done with him, theres nowhere else to go. At least with Davis, it would be his first loss and may get another chance from Dana.

 

he already took his time, they were supposed to fight after bones beat rua then he got injured. It's time for him to fight jon jones.

 

I guess its now or never for him. I think Rashads high profile enough to open up an MMA school down the line for income.

 

I'm embarrassed to say that I have never seen either Davis or Gustafsson fight.

Rashad will have no problems generating income down the line. He's done enough in the cage that anyone who is serious about MMA will know of him, and he's a charismatic, intelligent, hardworking, sociable guy. He'll be fine.

Personally I wouldn't be at all surprised if he ended up on TV as part of the UFC's broadcast team. He seems well suited for that role, he loves dressing up in fancy suits and talking about MMA while cameras film him.

Only hope for what? Davis is a one-dimensional fighter with slightly above average MMA wrestling, decent subs and no stand up. Even if he were good enough to beat Jones, would you seriously want to see a champ who only wrestle****s his opponents?

I know that Jones' personality rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but he's awesome to watch and almost all of his fights have been interesting. He's a dominant champion who looks to finish all the time. I don't understand what it is that the division needs "saving" from.

 

Gustafsson is a special breed although not quite on the level of Jon Jones......YET. He showed his green side in the loss to Davis. Gustafsson may be the one to take Bones to the brink in a year or so.

 

Bader is a decorated top level wrestler and didn't come close to taking Jones down.

 

Mo would do a lot better. Davis couldn't land the double leg on little Nog. He resorted to the single leg, which is fine, but I don't see him having the explosion required to take down Jones.
