Yeah Olegs proved his point, should go out on a high note. He came back and won 3 fights, nothing else to prove, and I would hope he's been smart with his career earnings. Though if he does fight one more time, it would be nice to see him avenge that loss to Corey Sanders, but other than that there's not point in fighting. Yeah old McCall definitely has more left in the tank than lots of other heavies from the late 80s/early 90s that are still floating around.... Probably can fight the way he's fighting into his early 50s. On Wawzryk, yeah it's fine to fight one shot named fighter to pad your resume after a bad loss, but seems to me that he's making it a habit.... Can't say I'm a fan of that kind of thing. Boystov is wasted talent man, has the skills, but just doesn't have the mindset and dedication needed to succeed at world level. From what I hear he's a party animal, and slacks off a lot in training. Could have been something.... Well, name of the game, not the first not the last to waste his talents.....
Because he took a payday fight with Povetkin? His resume is a joke compared to the guys you mentioned, his resume is about on par with Wilders....
Up against Albert Sosnowski next. Moving along very well for a young prospect. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=377928&cat=boxer :bbb
I'd rather he fought McCall. Sosnowski had a good run from about 05-10, but since the Vitali fight, he's been in the Prizefighter circuit, having only 1 serious fight, that he got KTFO by Sascha..... Hardly a great step up for Wawryk....but in terms of euro popularity, it may bolster Wawryks chances at securing a Euro title fight vs the winner of Fury Chisora.:think
He would be crazy to fight Pianeta. Too dangerous, too southpaw. Price need to take his steps, but anyway, he's finished already.
It'd be a great fight IMHO. Whilst I can't call him a friend in the traditional sense of the word, I am an acquaintance of David and he's a VERY nice person indeed. A real gentleman. His career was in tatters after the Thompson disasters and exposed a serious conditioning issue and some ring craft inexperience. I personally believe and I think he'd also admit that he got caught up in his own hype and success by fighting out of his home town (my home town also) where he was (is) massively popular. The Sauelands have taken him away from that and know that if they are to capitalize on his not inconsiderable plus points, they need to work on the weaknesses away from all the hype and distractions. I personally believe he will go a long way indeed, and wish him all the best, although as a 'friend' I'm heavily biased.
Well, it's better than facing Botha or Danny Williams... But Sosnowski is over the hill as well... He got stopped in like 2 rounds by Rogan last year in the prize fighter tournament..
Hahahah impressive Pulev beat Dimitrenko,Ustinov, thompson, skelton, walker. 3 of that 5 would smash to pieces pianeta
:good:good:good Good post. I agree that there is no question that Pricey has ALL the tools to go ALL the way. He didn't take the path of least resistance like many other fighters, and just like Wladimir, he found himself lacking in the confidence dept after being caught and stopped by Thompson. That eardrum deal.....you aint coming back in a fight with a broken eardrum. Aint happening. So he took the rematch, nearly won it in 2, but lost his confidence when Thomspon came back. He gassed, but I truly believe it was psychological, rather than some physical defect. In the Pala comeback, he showed great poise.....took some solid punches, was even dropped, and got back up and dominated. By getting up and getting back into his game plan, he greatly increased his self confidence. And that's gonna take him a long way. While Im a fan of both Pianeta and Price, this is the type of fight they both need. Either one could take an easier fight, ie Pianeta could fight Pala, Airich, etc and Pricey could call back Thomspon and prove his resolve or take another fight vs a Suaerland toughguy like Bydenko, Hammer, or Larsen.:think
OK.....don't know much about you, so I'll reserve being rude. Pianeta would SMOKE.....absolutely dominate and KTFO Dimitrenko, Thompson, Skelton, Walker....... He would EASILY.....and I mean EASILY as in no trouble whatsoever, box circles around Ustinov. Ustinov does have a granite chin though, so I won't say he wouldnt make the final bell.:think
Cmon man thompson beat price 2 times also the great cuban. Who is 13 times more skilled than pianeta Thompson is very tricky cat noone have an easy day with him! !
