This is the second time when he is ducking Wlad. This guy will never be ready, always comes something.
I quess he is making nice cash fighting nobodys thou and doesnt want to end his career by Decapitation.

he is decent contender, good boxer but lacks Ambition of True Warrior.

It's only delaying the inevitable, but with a name like Maskaev on the record it should hype him up a bit

its a smart move. he has fought with chambers and wants to see him with wlad so he can learn a little more about wlad.. but he has no killer instinct as guy above mentioned, an that is something you gotta have to beat Wlad

Yes because he needs to get a fight under his belt with Atlas as his trainer so they can develope chemistry together.

Obviously Povetkin and his team are opting not to fight Wlad for a good reason. They'd get a lot of cash if they faced Wlad now, so I guess they know that Povetkin is not ready yet. He seemed rusty in his last fight, he needs another tune-up - and he would be well advised to face a tall opponent then. And why not Alexander Dimitrenko? Povetkin could prove that he can outbox Dimitrenko just like Eddie Chambers did.

Povetkin is ducking Wlad. But at the same time that's for the best he needs more experience. Then again he doesn't have that speed he had when he 1st turned pro & I don't think he's gonna get technically better to the extent needed overnight.

Yeah, I think so. He gets time to gel with Atlas and look for any weakness when WALD fights Chambers.

it doesn't hurt for povetkin to fight another 2 years before he take a shot at wlad. and even then his chance is thin.

Povetkin is ducking Wlad. The first time in December 2008. He should lost the mandatory status.

    Good move.
He seemed to be little rusty in his last match.

A contender with a wee bit of self confidence wouldn't think twice and jump at a chance with Wlad. Not goto camp with a clown like Atlas trying to find a magic trick against Wlad. What non-sense.

Povetkin has EVERYTHING boxing wise, he's just lacking the mental makeup (BALLS!) to face Wlad.

He does seem a bit hessitant to face Wlad, but it can't hurt to take more time for preparation either

So is every HW fighter who isn’t ready to face the champion yet, ducking the Champ?

Exactly. It doesn't make much difference which of these guys Wlad disposes of first.
