Is power and speed really genetics or is technique involved?

Asked to talk Eyes, Peripheral, and Dominant, as an old Proff from Harvard told me years ago. They are culprit of 95% of injury's, which to be honest threw me. Most people are Dominant because of Eye sight, Dominant Eye Right, More than not Right handed and Vice-verse there are exceptions, a few . Which makes one side active, the one that does the action, while the other Stabilizes the action. Now over the years there becomes an imbalance, which alters walking Gait, everyone's is different as you can see when soldiers, are marching. Whats Happened is the Muscles on one side are use to performing different Tasks. Next thing that happens is compensation sets in to perform intricate actions in Sport, then Hell is let loose, Hope this Helps

Yes. It is genetic. Using effectively? That is technique and genetics (timing/targeting).

Fine tuning of somatosensory, vestibular and visual input. Causing muscles to fire off quickly and efficiently. Can't have anything less than perfect posture to perform that exercise well. Balance and co-ordination.
You're more subconsciously aware of what your feet are doing, when you punch you'll maintain COG stability more easily. Making your punch biomechanically better qualitatively speaking, allowing a higher transference of power into your punch.

Sorry my mate thought you were a noob... Alt? Who? Pm....

I'd say not nessacarily. Sugar ray Leonard's hands were the same as mine, rock Marciano had small hands, mike Gomez, etc etc....

I think the thought behind this comes from the fact there are a lot more famous punchers at heavy then anywhere else, and of course they are big blokes... Sorry for being a twat!
