Damn, that is the coverage boxing needs. I'm glad ITV have come back to covering boxing though.

Weren't these ITV Tyson fights shown at very unfriendly times though? (e.g. 3am in the morning British time).

Sky wasn't really around then so ITV was the logical choice as the BBC used to shut down at around 0030hrs some weekends.

I wish the BBC would broadcast boxing again. Too bad Audley Harrison killed that relationship.

The PBC on ESPN shows are shown on BT/ESPN
The PBC on Spike shows are shown on Spike UK
The PBC shows on NBC/CBS that feature a Matchroom fighter tend to be on Sky Sports.

Haymon bought air time, in order to recup that they'll sell the TV rights overseas hence the fights almost always being on a pay-to-watch channel in the UK.

ITV are NOT in the boxing business. Buying air time, as Frampton's team did, is completely different to a channel competing for fights and paying to broadcast them.

Boxing will never come back to the BBC as it's run by left-wing fruitcakes.

Dont understand some of the logic in here. Anyone would think that some of you guys expect the fight to be on ITV but ITV shouldn't have to pay for the rights.

Honestly, get in the real world. Sports coverage costs money and ITV need to pay the going rate if they want to broadcast the fights.

Not necessarily. Spike UK has nothing to do with spike in the states. Channel 5 own spike UK. Also amir khan vs Chris algieri was broadcast on spike in the states. Box nation showed the fight in the UK.

Also ESPN do not even run operations in the UK anymore. BT bought the channel and decided to still use the ESPN name.

Each fight no matter who the broadcaster is in the states is open for any channel to bid for.

Channel 5 are now owned by Viacom who own Spike.

Yeah, but it's funny that they are getting the US ESPN content in this case. You kind of suspect that some sort of deal may be in place.
