James off the ropes, half crouched with that shoulder roll and thumping short right hand that had Jirov, Holyfield, Rahman and Ruiz in trouble was very effective for his weight and shape. The complete set that schooled Barkley for the IBF SMW Title, and even the one who fought Mike McCallum the second time around for the IBF MW Title was always very skilled , yes, specially in the inside. A lot of people talk about Tiberi but that's a whole lot of crap.

Watching Toney's fights always make me smile, seeing how fluid he was slipping and countering on the inside is like watching Art being created in front of you.

He was really something. Especially the way he would rasp "come on *****" as he was slipping shots with his back to the ropes.

Executes with minimal effort, damn near impossible to hit and could basically throw any shot he wanted in there.

    An exceptional inside fighter.

I used to just truly enjoy watching his inside game, the bobbing, head movement, shoulder rolls, and tendency to retreat back to the ropes to draw people in and give the illusion of vulnerability.

I wonder how well he would train boxers.

    Great inside fighter as well.

Toney was the best at slipping and countering on the inside.

The likes of Duran and Chavez were more vicious offensively on the inside, more KOS followed up their work.

Overall, Toney is the best when on his game

Floyd Mayweather is trying to emulate Toney on the inside.
But he ain't half the inside fighter Toney is.

Toney would have picked apart Maidana on the inside.
