Probably... Yes.

But he was basically paid beaucoup bucks to go and win fixed fights. Until he wasn't. But by then he was rich enough that he could take a few losses and not feel horrible about it.

Carnera had no formal Boxing training and even as a "Pro" doesn't appear to have trained seriously.
