I always wondered how Wlad got away with all the pushing he did.

True, when I was a kid and had to do drawing in the late 70's in Catholic school I was about 6 and had to do a drawing of someone helping someone.

Well I drew someone helping someone by pushing them out a window.....definatley a watered down generation BC instead of leaving that school I would be under evaluation today, ppl need to toughen up, bunch of nit picking wimps for sure.

This. Foreman was one of my favorite fighters, but he abused this against smaller fighters. A two arm push is way more effective than a jab.

Fight didn't last long enough for that. But Foreman totally stopped Frazier from using his main form of defense with his pushing.

Pushing is illegal in boxing, I have seen referees warn fighters about pushing! However, there are zero rules for SOB Ward in boxing, he can hold, wrestle, headbutt, punch low and to the testicles, hold on to an opponent's leg, elbow, etc., this has been made clear by the powers in boxing! HBO should have told the truth, Paulie did on Showtime!

Not allowed to push so Khan was right to be punished for it. Maybe he should of changed tactics and took a load of peds cuz that was fine apparently.

I think refs should be harsher on fighters who break the rules and be more ready to dock points. Pushing, low blows, etc don't suddenly become illegal after the 3rd or 4th instance, they are illegal at the start.

You're entirely correct, however one unintended side-effect would be an increased effect of referee bias.

For example, let's say Fighter A is a notorious low-blow merchant while Fighter B specializes in flagrant rabbit punches. Neither adapt their behaviour for any reason.

In a fair fight both would get docked numerous points.

However, if the referee is biased, or doesn't want to upset the crowd, he may well turn a blind eye to one of the offenses. This would result in a huge imbalance point-wise, basically gifting the fight to the favoured fighter. Currently, referees only deduct one or two points at most which gives less scope for bias to affect the result.

Yeah, refs are wary of applying the rules properly and taking points because doing so hands one guy the round, and in many cases the fight. Then of course as you say he's aware of the imbalance and potential bias comes into play. The scoring system needs to be modified so penalty points don't have the impact they do now, and refs can freely assess deductions when necessary. I can't believe the commissions/other powers that be haven't attempted to make this sort of change. Refs need to be able to dock points so there's a deterrent; as it is fighters are only given empty threats so continue to bend the rules.
