He's like a Julian Jackson at 140....i can't think of many 140 lbers that was knocking fighters unconscious like he has. Zab hits hard as does/did Cervantes,Pryor,Arguello,Chavez,Kosta Tsyz,etc... but i can't recall any of them knocking a man out like Randall Bailey does
No, Bailey is a hard puncher but he has never showned that power on the world class stage, whether it was against Corley,Hurtado,Cotto.
I don't know. What I can tell you is that even back when Tszyu was around there were lot of fans who still claimed that Bailey was the biggest puncher at 140. Now that's saying something.

i think he is one of the biggest at least, he can tread with a good list of the 140lb punchers that include tszyu, phillips, garza, cervantes, baltazar and arguello as far as i would guess. i was watching the highlights of his fight with hurtado and he could litterally push you back into the ropes with his right hands. maybe not a feat that is hard to do on a world class punchers scale, but the way he hurtado was bracing for his shots looked like he was trying to fend off a wrecking ball. however, when i watched his fight with figueroa i noticed how hard figueroa's head hit the canvas. i have a stong belief that it was huge factor in the outcome of the knock out. his head hit the ground really hard, julian jackson actually knocked guys unconcious before they even hit the ground.
The fact is that Bailey never really even stopped a world class fighter. It's absurd to call him the hardest puncher of all-time at 140. If that were true he would have accomplished a hell of a lot more than he did in his career. Props to him for this late career resurgence, but he's nowhere near the top of all time.
Okay.... but I'm not claiming he was actually the best puncher out there. I'm just telling you what I've heard. By the way, I don't think the fact that he's never KOed a top fighter actually disqualifies him from being a great puncher though. Not being able to KO a world class fighter probably has more to do with his lack of skills and chin rather than an inability to bang at the highest levels. If you can punch, you can punch.
He's never really stopped a top 'Elite' fighter, but I think that was down to their skill rather than the fact that he doesn't have good power....I think if he managed to land one of his shots on any 140 lber ion history they'd be hurt....but I can imagine the likes of Aaron Pryor shaking it off. One of....but not quite as he hasn't knocked out any Elites. I'd probably still say Tszyu, although Arguello still had pop at the weight so you could make an argument he was (as he's one of the hardest hitters P4P all time)
No he has the power, what he lacked was the skill to land those shots vs world class level fighters. Its like giving a blind man a 357, and giving a guy with perfect sight a 22. Which is going to do more damage.
Tszyu and Pryor hit much harder and stopped more class opponents at 140 than Randall Bailey ever did.
