Winning an Olympic Gold Medal at heavyweight in 1988 certainly meant more then than it does now, almost 40 years later. I agree. But British fans were certainly behind Joyce after winning the silver in 2016. There's no doubt about that.
I think Ray beats both of them. Golotta would meltdown hitting that chin and not getting any reaction. Ray gets him in a corner and stops him similar to Morrison. Moorer? If Mercer can out jab Lewis he can do the same to Mike. I think Mercer is all wrong for Moorer whose power will count for little against the Acme anvil but whose own fragility could see him stopped late.
The budget was 42 million so it wasn't a complete bomb. Morrison was definitely made more popular by his showing, regardless.
You don't film a Rocky movie that Stallone didn't write. Come on now. They should have known better. Always loved that about Stallone. (btw, he's absolutely amazing in Tulsa King as an old gangster, I suggest everyone watch it)
For a film in a popular franchise its hard not to do ok at the box office even if its a 0 on Rotten Tomatoes. Too many people will watch just on the name. I think the problem with this film is they tried being too creative and out of the box. Didn't Stallone want Morrisons character to kill Rocky? Imagine what that would have done to his image?
Moorer had a far better jab than Mercer and Ray got hit tons by Lewis who also ate a lot of jabs from Bruno, Lewis was good at landing jabs but not evading them.
Agree to disagree man. For me, Ray's jab was a very underestimated part of his arsenal. Heavy, accurate, hurtful. Moorer was more of a traditional set up jab for him to work off and throw his combinations. Bruno also had a wonderful jab by the way. Sure Lewis ate from Bruno and Mercer...because they had world class jabs...
