Never seen him fight. All I know about Torres is that he lost to Cotto and he holds the WBO belt. I think one of the boxing websites has him at #4.

    Is he any good?

Huge puncher, shakey chin, crude boxer.

Got a gift against Holt, premature stoppage when losing comfortably.

As mentioned he is a massive power-puncher, but his technique is not the best. His chin is just left out there to be hit. However, I would not say he was particularly chinny (it took Cotto to hit him with a ton of punches to put him down and keep him down) but he does have glaring defensive flaws, and his balance and footwork are rubbish.

Apparently the Kendal Holt fight was a bloody fiasco; bottles and tins getting thrown at the challenger, and a bit of a premature stoppage.

Last I heard he was to rematch Holt, but in America this time. May not be ranked so highly in the division after that fight.

Jeez I would pay to see that fight. Wow what a match up. I had hoped that Hatton would be fighting Torres instead of his match up with Lazcano. Hatton would have got an hell of alot of credit for taking that one.

Torres is good but I can not see him keeping his belt for too long. I think he is rated so high for his loss to Cotto, similar to Maligfaggi in that respect.

He can blast a bit - but is Urango like technique wise. In other words heavy handed but sluggish and crude.

Hatton or Witter would school him, before stopping him.

Gave Cotto hell, pulled out a scintillating win against Holt and is the WBO champ. Boxrec record speaks for itself. He's good, not great, and he's very dangerous.

Witters people should be looking to Torres after his Bradley fight.
