Is Ricky Burns' reign and defences any worse than Haye's at HW???

    This.

Even though Martinez didn't turn out to be anything spectacular, the fact that Burns beat him easily ought to prove that he doesn't need to be messing around with bums like Laryea.

There were lots of more worthy contenders that would have earnt him more money than that fight..... everyone who saw him vs Appleby would know Burns would thrash him, that's what happened ultimately.

Ricky is a really good fighter, he needs to be given really good fights.

It's probably worth adding that Joseph Laryea fought yesterday in the States. He retired on his stool at the end of the fourth round to an a little known prospect called Mason Menard. I think that says it all.

Ricky has ALWAYS been a good fighter, no question about it, so no-one can say otherwise I.M.O
Yeah he has had a few fights against guys that couldnt lace his boots, but who deoesnt?? It aint his fault, its ******s fault. I am sure Ricky wouldnt turn a fight down against a big name, he just needs a chance to prove it

Thanks for that mate, Billy tried making out Laryea would beat Buckland, Sykes or anyone else in Britain for that matter.

Ricky will fight another body guys, just you wait and see.

Also whilst I am here, if Roman Martinez was the world bestseller Ricky says he is then why hasn't he announced himself back with a win over a top 10 opponent? Smashing Nicky Crook holds no stock for me.

    That's definitely true ;)

At least we've got a Burns/Appleby 'world' title fight to look forward to someday then :-(

He retired on stool last night due to hand injury according to WBN but he was getting beaten by the lad and was struggling so probs didn't fancy taking any more punishment.

    This is Mason Menard.
