No, I don't think Ricky Burns is scared of any challenge.

It really annoys me reading the negative crap about Burns.

By all means people are entitled to rate him and prefer other boxers, but to make out he is some sort of coward or that he will to choose to avoid Broner is nonsense and completely unfair IMO.

I don't know the guy personally, but I have been following boxing a long time now and have seen a alot of interviews and read alot of articles relating to boxers and Ricky Burns comes across as one of the most decent and honest there is.

He is the sort of pro that the game of boxing is about to me.

He doesn't bad mouth opponents, he keeps himself in tremendous shape, he conducts himself with dignity and he gives it his all in the ring.

All the **** there is in the sport, all the low lifes and cheats that poison it, Ricky Burns is one of the sports good guys.

    Burns fears nobody.

In actual fact, can someone explain what has Broner done to make Burns fear him?

Burns seems a top bloke and I have no doubt he would take the fight.

Frank won't want it though, no doubt he will make a pisspot offer to bring Broner over here and then spend the next year in the press saying Broner ducked Burns cos he didn't want to accept 3 bags of scampi fries and a cardboard cut out of Will Smith as payment.

I'm sure Billy would concur that they lookes at chasing Marquez when they were the interim holders. Not the best idea IMO but indicitave of the fact that Burns fears no one.

I'm sure Ricky knows that Broner is a superb fighter and it wouldn't have been smart to go up against him weight-drained but there's absolutely no way he's scared of him.
Or anyone else for that matter, whether he can beat them or not.

No. Does he think he'll have a hard night? Yes. I think Ricky is one of those fighters that would not take it badly if he lost. He just wants to test himself to see if he is up there, and if he is great. If he isn't, then he'd hold his hands up i'm sure.

I don't think a loss harms Ricky at all apart from the fact he'll not have a belt as a bargaining chip.

There will be fights with Rees, Murray, Mitchell etc still there and would guarantee some more paydays.

    He should push for it.

I doubt Ricky is scared, nor is Fatty Nelson given his belief in the lad. Old fish eyes on the other hand . . . . . .

After saturdays performance made me relise that Burns would probably give Demarco a good going over, but i think he would come up short against Broner but i think it would be very competive..

Pretty poor effort Lirva. Now Dai is here you'll definitely need to raise your game a bit.

I like Burns, but he just ain't gonna be fighting Broner whilst he is being managed by fish eyes.

It ain't gonna happen unless frankie wants to cash out on him, and that ain't happening anytime soon.

Real shame, because at the end of the day their ain't no shame losing to Broner and I'm sure Burns actually wants the fight.
