Is Ricky burns terrified of Adrian broner?

He needs to fight him soon. If they don't meet come summer time then it's a ****ing joke.

 

I'd still watch him fight, but would I have the same enthusiasm. Answer is no. My suspicions of him ducking Broner would also be semi confirmed.

 

It's a pretty poor match-up for this supposed modern great. Was there not a decent light welter he could take on as a stay busy fight? Why pick Rees?

Look at it objectively and you can probably see why.

I'm not going to watch him again until he fights a genuine contender, which wont be anytime soon. Burns has bottled it big time here

 

I don't consider Broner a modern great Dave and I can see your point, Rees is not that bad, I don't think he will win but I think he will make a fight of it.

Rees is an ok opponent, who will come and have a go. He's got some skills but there were other guys out there who clearly felt the money wasn't good enough.

 

It's not 2 months to prepare though. After Ricky's last fight was cancelled they could have easily sat down and negotiated with Broner but they didn't.

There is certainly an element in truth in what you say, however why run the risk of missing put on Broner all together?

Let's be honest, Broner is the name here, he is the one with all the hype behind him & if we are being honest, he doesn't really need Burns. If you was Broner would you come to Scotland? **** no & who can blame him?

Burns needs Broner a lot more than Broner needs Burns

Billy Nelson has been on here saying that Burns didn't want the fight. Pretty much says it all.

This I don't agree with at all. Burns isn't on HBO, but Burns actually sells tickets. He can fight another six fights and retire on good money. Broner hasn't got any fanbase at all. Ricky would be his best opponent to date - he DOES need him.

Billy Nelson saying what he says means the square root of **** all. Do you think anyone from the Burns management team are going to start negotiating in public, or tell you the finer points of any offer. Don't be daft.

If the offer had been made and it was a decent one dont you think that team Broner would be shouting it from the rooftops? The lack of a figure out in the open by one side or the other speaks volumes
