We all know Ricky went on an impressive undefeated streak. He destroyed a prime Tsyzu and took his soul with a beautiful display of boxing skill. He was unbeatable at 140 lbs., and only lost to the two greatest fighters of our time. He had the best footwork and bodyshots of any 140 pounder ever, period. Hatton also had the fanbase to keep him afloat during a tough fight. Even in losing to Senchenko, Hatton, well past his prime, displayed his beautiful boxing skills and ring savvy that he has honed for over two decades. Senchenko may have gotten the W, but Hatton showed the world that no matter how old he is, he has elite ATG boxing skills that must be respected. It seems fitting that he went out on a bodyshot in the same fashion he retired the great JLC, who was still prime when Hatton destroyed him. Hatton clearly has the makings of an ATG, I have him in my top 50 as he was unbeatable at 140 lbs. What do you think, ESB?
He was a lazy drunk who could not stop eating junk food, who might have been great if he had any real motivation and will power.
His WBU reign of terror was the stuff of legends. You don't have 20 odd world title defences without being an ATG.
Hatton was running the boxing world with his WBU paper belt. For half a decade he made a name for himself by destroying the most elite fighters in defense of his WBU paper title. It took a man named Mayweather to stop his reign of terror. ATG stuff.
Nope ATG should be reserved for truley great fighters with excellent resume's to back it up (ex: Ali, Duran, Leonard etc) Maybe a HOF fighter maybe.
No, he beat one good fighter in Kostya. Ricky was a good fighter though. But a bit short of ATG. Someone like Froch is far closer to ATG as he has meet many more top fighters.
