He is the main reason why boxing popularity has been reignited in the UK. The sport was a dying one among the British general public.
he needs to unify at his weight class to be considered atg at that weight.. for me holt and bradley is enough..as he is already going to fight malignaggi
exactly nobody that can establish you as an ATG,while below you have pac, campbell, diaz, maybe khan, all who i would regard as a higher standard than any of those you listed, technically they are all much better and bring much more appetising fights.
Correction. Only reason Since Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank packed in, we haven't had a face until Ricky emerged. Lennox was popular but never fought over here when he was at the top, and wasn't big box office entertainment + he beat Bruno. Calzaghe has only just stepped out of the comfort zone and stopped hiding behind a title + he isn't really charismatic like Hatton. Back to topic, Ricky is top 10 @ 140 all time - never lost in his weight class (never will either) and has had the bottle to vacate his title and challenge other fighters rather than chump mandatories (Calzaghe take note) and also fight abroad throughout is career. Hall of Fame certainly - he has re-ignited a dying sport in the UK, plus being a linear champ for over three years and stepping up to 147 abroad etc. Thats enough for me :good
I agree. There was huge void when that lot left the scene; the nation appeared to fall out of love with boxing.
Yea. The Tzstyu win brought him up... the Castillo win cemented it even though Castillo was shot, that body shot would have taken anyone down... and when he beats that piece of **** Malignaggi, the only loss he'll have is to Mayweather. If he were to beat Pacman that would shut the haters up forever about him. He's a great, underrated fighter who's mastered infighting.
You will never shut the haters up :-( they will say pac was to small or come or pac was shot etc.. there is always some excuse. Like lennox people still hate on him even though he is clearly a top 10 all time hw, people say he is top 20 or top 15 which is shite. Mainly because of his pasport :deal
Of course he's Hall of Fame worthy. He's never been beat at 140 and was the linear champion at 140. I've got to give it to him, moving up to WW to face Mayweather.
collazo's claim to fame is his loss to hatton nothing else maussa nothing special definitely not a name to atempt to hang your hat on. castillo was past shot. URANGO you are joking right? and he has not fought paulie. and if this is your example of a very good resume, either you are very nationalistic, and defend your fighter to the end.. or you have very low standards
