Would Mayweather have simply outclassed and made Pacman looks sloppy to win a wide UD i.e. much like what just happened with Rigo-Donaire?
Manny is definitely faster and is better at creating his own offensive opportunities. But the fact still remains. He gets outclassed and outboxed to a WIDE UD. Not as bad as Floyd/Marquez But it would look like something from what we saw yesterday (Without the knockdown), maybe with Manny winning 1-2 rounds in the middle rounds.
Generally yes...Floyd would counter the **** out of him early, Manny would be shocked by his power, as the fight progresses Manny's output drops off the chart, and by the end Floyd would be busting him up. The stylistic elements wouldn't be the same though.
I pondered it. But there are difference. Pac is a much better offensive fighter. In his prime his feet where even better than Donaire's, and while Pac flicks his jab he uses it to push forward and create opportunities. Of course Pac risks a lot in doing so, but has a top-notch chin like Donaire. Pac would be slightly smaller, though, unlike Rigo. But he's simply much superior on the initiative than Donaire. Rigo is also probably a little bit more fleet-footed than Floyd. But yes, I tend to think Mayweather would have won but in a much closer affair. Rigo is a lot more lateral with his movement, Mayweather has a tendency to veer straight back and some these differences might make a more compelling fight.
pacquiao would ultimately force himself to get knocked out. Donaire's primary mold is that of a counterpuncher. Being a reckless lunger isn't habitual to him. Floyd can be quite a physical guy. Rigo isn't very physical from waht I seen
Really can't see Mayweather running from Pacquiao. Esspecially the Mayweather post-retirement. Also what Donaire would have benefited greatly vs a guy like Rigondeaux, is like Pacquiao does, constant fienting and jabbing, which Pacquiao would do vs Mayweather too.
Another of the woulda, coulda, and shoulda Floyd fight.. It could be, it could be not but the truth is that health come first and we'll never know.
Yeah, the Pac-Floyd fight was never going to happen, spoiled by politics/ducking etc but last nights fight between Rigo-Donaire offers a useful case study on how it, in general terms, might have unfolded.
No I think Pac vs Mayweather would have looked like Judah vs Mayweather with out the Riot and a late stoppage in favor of May
