Is Ring Magazine's top ten for all divisons today, Very good, average, below average or poor? http://thering-online.com/ringpages/ratings2.html
The only rankings that are really odd are the 154 division rankings, DLH at 3 and Dzinziruk at 9? that must be a joke. Apart from that I think they did quite a good job, I don´t agree with everything but overall they are good.
Which weight class? I take it yoru talking about HW's as that's usually your focus. If so I'd say its average/poor skill sets, in terms of prime of fighters I'd say poor, 7 are 30 plus, and 5 are 35 plus, in terms of size/strength of the fighters its pretty good.
Yep and Dzinderuk is below Santos who he beat comfortably in 2005, although Dzinderuk's opposition has dropped off since, he needs big fights, Julio is a step in that direction, he needs to dominate him. If Martinez beats Forrest maybe they can unify. Isn't Williams moving to 154? I hope Dzinderuk isn't another fighter who stays in Germany and never fights the rest of the division because he could be very good and give us some great fights Williams is also below Margarito who he beat
I think the ratings are good. Personally I would make 2 changes but that's all, and that's really not many for 16 divisions and a pound-for-pound ranking: - I think James Toney should be in the heavyweight top ten ahead of Maskaev and/or Ruiz - Roy Jones Jr has done nothing over the past 4 years to justify being ranked #6 at light-heavyweight
Dzinziruk will end like Erdei both aren´t marketable in Germany and have no fan base, Erdei at least has one in Hungary. They will feed him as weak opposition as possible and hold on the title as long as possible milking it. That´s very very sad because both are very skilled fighters who could easily hang in with the other top guys in their division.
In all the divisions I'm up to date on, aside from maybe junior middleweight (where the magazine now has a certain, erm, "investment"), the rankings look generally sound. MUCH better than any sanctioning body.
Definitely some paralells, both beat pretty good champs to get their title and then havent really backed it up with any noteable wins. But I think Sergei might be more willing to have a crack..The Julio fight is a step in the right direction as its against an exciting fighter who has had some exposure in the U.S. Plus more people in the U.S, where the other 3 champs are, would recognize the name Lujuan over Garay. Erdei..Not so sure about. I really dont think he loves his craft that much. An excellent amateur and seems to have the mindset of that realm still. But then again Garay is a champ now, so a third fight and possibly another title is possible.
