Maidana actually has a jab and a winning record above 135.

Maidana won more rounds vs Floyd than Rios vs Abril you do the math.
Rios is C level fighter with A level chin, nothing more.

Maidana isn't outboxing anyone, he goes in there to brawl. Ortiz put Maidana down 3 times, Morales almost had him out. Its basics in clash of styles, Rios has never even come close to being hurt, Maidana cant hurt Rios, but Rios can hurt Maidana.

What? Maidana doesn't even have a good win under his belt... who has he exposed? They are both about equal. Rios has problems with speed...which Maidana doesn't have.
People forget than Khan nearly one rounded Maidana.

Rios has zero accomplishments above 135 pounds. Unless you consider his battles with Alvarado an accomplishment to note at 140. I don't. There really is no basis to say Rios would beat anybody at 147 pounds right now. In my opinion, it's not even close. I wouldn't give Rios a good shot against Maidana at 147.

People, namely *******s, are seriously under-estimating Maidana and discrediting the improvement he has shown. Garcia is an excellent and respected trainer in the sport of boxing, and he's done excellent work with Chino.

I think the difference is that manny has the power to hurt maidana and is willing to exchange with him and thats where maidana could be in trouble. manny is quick enough to unleash 3 or 4 hard shots and move away before maidana has a chance to fire back. i think a manny/maidana fight would play out very similar to the rios fight except maidana would touch manny up a little more than rios.

    Erm....

Maidana has much better feet, and a much better jab than Rios. I like Rios, he can be fun to watch but Maidana is a far superior boxer.

Fair point. All we know is that his chin holds up at 47. Below 147 Rios was far more durable.

Nobody can deny Rios is tough as nails. The man can take a punch. But he's very crude and I don't think his style is efficient unless he is in those positions like he was as a lightweight, out-weighing guys and leaning on them.

Not to mention he was never the quickest guy to begin with. The man is practically a statue when he blows up to 154+ pounds in the ring. Just IMO.

I would love to find out for sure by having them fight each other. I would go with Maidana at 140 or 147.
