Just stumbled upon this pic and made me think. Gamboa looks to be around 150 here.

He's definitely not in fighting shape in that pic, but he looks like he carries the weight well.

Acosta had Rios in trouble in there for the early rounds. Surely i like to think that Gamboa is better than Acosta.

Rios is way to big for him. He'll be fighting at 140 in his next fight and he'll be a big 140 pounder.

Really don't think he should skip weight classes but he does seem to be in shape, he still has a 6 pack but looks very thick

Better yes but does he hit harder? I don't think so. Also Acosta had good hand speed and was awkward. He was also a bigger and stronger fighter then Gamboa and everyone says Rios was hurt early a few times I dont think he was ever hurt he got stunned or shook up by a few punches but he was never even close to going down.

Rios would walk through Gamboa fast flurries and land his hard thudding shots and stop Gamboa around the 8th.

Gamboa would definitely keep more mobile and not work off the ropes/ring post as much as Acosta did, but I just don't think he could keep Rios off him the whole fight.

I hope not. Draining himself as much as he does definitely takes years off your prime. He looked like he was days from death at the weigh in if he fight at 135 again it will be a stupid move on his part and if he fights someone too dangerous it could be disastrous.

Ya apparently. They are hiring a nutritionist for him because they think his diet is lacking.
But if he doesn't make it he should do well at 140

He had mentioned in an interview that he's actually using a nutritionist now and the weight is coming off easier now and properly. I mean, the boy wasn't eating for days before his last fight. :patsch
