how can he realy want this fight for his boy. I mean, sure I would like too see this fight, but when it is gonne end? next will be pac vs pascal or what. 1.78 m ht 1.93 m reach ~ 71 kg for martinez, 1.69 m ht 1.70 m reach max 65 kg. the difference is so huge, plus martinez being fast himself and in his prime right now. pac is there for a loss, sergio is no margarito or small marquez. does roach realy thinks pac can handle all the reach difference or does he think they gonne do a catch weight and drain sergio?
When asked about the next potential opponent in the Manny Pacquiao sweepstakes, Freddie Roach ran down the usual cast of characters—and dismissed them all with relative ease. If Roach has his way, “Pac-Man” will match up with the man who rose to stardom with the most exciting knockout of 2010. “I’d like to see him fight [Sergio] Martinez right away,” Roach said last night during a media roundtable. “[Floyd] Mayweather, with what he has going on in his life right now; I think he has to handle that before he can even talk about fighting. Sergio Martinez at the right weight I think can be the most exciting fight out there.”
Depending on the weight, I would love to see this. Sergio would, and should, be the fave, but I certainly wouldn't count Pac out.
Say you want one of the best fights out there, then go for the damaged goods and clearly state that's the reason why you're fighting them. :deal
Sergio Martinez at the right weight I think can be the most exciting fight out there.[/quote] that sound like BS already. for me it is pac vs sergio at middleweight or no fight. this catchweight drama has too stop. pacman vs kirkland pacman vs angulo pacman vs marquez III pacman vs berto at 154 is a go for me...
ODLH was too big Hatton was too big Cotto was too big Clottey was too big Margacheato was too big Yawn.
The key is "at the right weight", anything less than 154 is bull**** and Sergio won't do it. Please save me the "he's too small", he's not too small to claim to have a "championship" in this weight class, so defend your title. Martinez is the 160 champ, Pac is most comfortable at 147, hence a "catchweight" or fair limit is 154 which is in the middle of the two. I guess if they had to make it 153 so be it, but there's no reason for the weight to be any lower than that.
Sergio said he's willing to do 155 for Cotto - so 155 for Manny should be fine. I feel sorry for Manny if the fight is made. When is the last time Manny fought a Southpaw?
Sergio can't make 154 and under so there will be no fight. Sergio would beat the **** outta Pac at anything above that.
