    1. Yes, it would be Martinez's fault. No one is denying that. That doesn't change the fact that beating Martinez at 151lbs would be meaningless.

    2. Anyone who thinks Martinez would have any negotiating leverage whatsoever against Pacquiao just flat out doesn't understand how these things work. Team Pacquiao will call all of the shots in this fight if it happens.

    3. Martinez making a decision to fight Pacquiao at a weight-drained level for big cash doesn't mean the win is still good since it was his choice and Pacquiao didn't have a gun to his head.

Oscar De La Hoya dropped to 147 to accomodate Pac. I think Martinez should do like wise and follow Oscar's good example.

If Pacquiao fights Martinez at 154/5 at Roach's behest and defeats Martinez, wonder what happens.

This that's all that really matters. These Floyd nuthuggers will spend the rest of their lives bitter about the fact that when it's all said and done, Pac will be WAY, WAY ahead of Floyd when it comes to greatness. Especially if Floyd never fights Pac.

At first blush I thought this was a ridiculous fight. However, Martinez is seriously over rated, and after giving this fight some thought in light of past circumstances, I think it makes sense.

What did Martinez do that makes people so sure he would slaughter Pac? He beat Pavlik and Williams, and that's all he did.

Most of us have known for a long time that PDub was a KO waiting to happen. You can't get away with non-stop sloppy aggression and no defense forever. Somebody was bound to catch him.

Pavlik ended his first stay at the Betty Ford Center just 10 days before the Martinez fight. He weighed 180 pounds, and he kept right on drinking. If a half drunk, hung over, weight drained and dehydrated Kelly Pavlik can win 4 or 5 rounds, and put Martinez on his ass in the process, what on earth makes people think Pac would have no chance of winning 7 rounds?

If Pac can get Martinez at 155, it is probably his one and only chance at beating a real middleweight with a big name. I think Pac's chances are pretty good. Maybe he'll catch a beating, but I rather doubt it.
